The Mumbai-based company is currently valued at approximately $1 billion, with half of the new funding intended as primary capital and the remainder through secondary transactions. This blended valuation combines the valuation from both primary and secondary rounds, reflecting a $1 billion valuation despite ongoing negotiations. Funding Details and Company Strategy In this round, Rebel Foods is revisiting its funding strategy from three years ago, when it closed a significant round of over $100 million at a $1 billion valuation. Despite achieving a valuation peak of $1.4 billion, the company’s current funding effort aligns with its earlier valuation. Recent measures to reduce monthly cash burn have contributed to this latest round. The company, which saw a 39% revenue increase to Rs 1,258 crore in FY23, aims to use the funds for business expansion and enhancing its offline presence with 100-250 new physical outlets. Future Outlook and Market Trends Rebel Foods, founded in 2011, continues to adapt to market conditions, reflecting broader trends among late-stage startups experiencing valuation adjustments.
