*ALERT* Scamsters claiming to be blood donors are preying on patients/attenders and their family and ask for petrol money, transport charge registration etc They do not donate blood nor do they appear. 1. They call at the last minute claiming to be students or medical students or nurses etc. 2. They urge you to send money soon. Say you're wasting time, and gaslight you to blame you. 3. They target small amounts, taxi fare, petrol charge, etc between 300 and 500 to 2000 and in some desperate cases even 6000 and 10000 4. They will turn down any attempts to organise transport, like pick up, you booking cab, and ask for online payment. 5. They will never turn up at the hospital. These people are not real blood donors. 6. If payment is made their phone numbers are switched off. Do not fall prey to these scamsters. Do not send money to anyone online. Whatever charges are due to you will be in your hospital bill or billed by blood bank. None of them ask for transfers online over phone calls. Whether they claim to be a foundation or nurse or doctor or whatever, ask them to appear at the blood bank and you will cover every charge (no one has ever turned up in such scam calls). One attender whose sister paid has claimed she suspects people waiting in hospitals and nearby of being or connected to these scamsters. She was scammed before publicly sharing a blood call. Here is how you can report them. If you recieve suspected fraud calls emails msgs or any other kind of communication, save and document everything and record it and report it in link below.
