We bring together nature, people & technology to manage waste holistically through resource recovery & circular economy
About us
Saahas Zero Waste is a socio-environmental enterprise with an overall experience of 10 years in the waste management sector. We believe in a circular economy where all waste is converted to resources. In this context, we leverage technology and data to provide a transparent view of the waste flow and the impact created through responsible waste management. We specialise in designing and executing customised solutions for the goal of zero waste to landfills, especially for bulk waste generators such as technology parks, residential complexes, educational institutions, hotels and others. In 2018, we were awarded the Swachh Best Practice Award by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as recognition of the work done in the space. In addition, we work with brands and producers to channelize plastic waste and e-waste for responsible processing under their extended producer responsibilities. In 2019, we diverted 10,000 MT of plastic waste from dumpsites and other open spaces under the extended producer responsibility program. To close the loop, we also offer products made from waste such as roofing sheets, clipboards, stationary, upcycled textile products, apparel and more. Our work supports livelihoods at the base of the pyramid and we consistently strive towards increasing the social impact of our work.

Holding our spine On Gandhi Jayanti today, we learn from Mahatma Gandhi on how to hold up our spine. Planet and People are the two top priorities in our work. • This means we deliver max #resourcerecovery for our #customers • Work intensively with difficult waste streams including C& D waste • Insist on a user fee model so the customer pays for a responsible system that appropriately pays people working with waste and tracks the waste at different levels up to an end destination. We believe that it is this system which can deliver a Swachh Bharat! #SwachhBharat #WasteManagement #Sustainability #ConstructionWaste #textilewaste #Ewaste

Responsible waste management, a health care recommendation for our planet September 26, is recognized as World Environmental Health Day. A health check conducted by Planetary Boundaries indicates that 6 out of 9 Planetary Boundaries (PB) have been transgressed. Our home, our planet needs emergency care. Waste Management through Resource Recovery plays a critical role in the healing process The air we breathe, the water we drink, and the soil we rely on are all affected by our waste practices, which is why we need responsible waste management Reach out to us for more information: info@saahaszerowaste.com #worldenvironmenthealthday #responsibleconsumption #reduce #environmentimpact #wastemanagementservices

We refer to ourselves - Saahas Zero Waste as an impact driven social enterprise. Tech works as a fringe solution to make us more accountable in our work. We are happy that there is now attention given to this form of tech which can enhance efficiencies but has to work alongside mainstream and operationally intensive solutions. #impactdriven #womenentrpreneur #sustainability

Happy to share some key takeaways from the discussion where our CEO Shobha Raghavan was part of. To achieve effective food waste management, organization should focus on several key steps. First, commit to ensuring waste is segregated within 30 days of sign-up. Next, implementing systems to quantify and qualify waste data, providing us with valuable insights for better decision-making. Also establish a feedback loop by tagging waste generators, allowing us to align on strategies for waste reduction. Investing in on-site food waste management is another crucial step, which helps to avoid reliance on costly offsite solutions. Additionally, evolving processes by renaming "wet waste" to "food waste" and categorizing it into precooked, plate waste, and surplus food for clearer management. Finally, recognize the importance of encouraging behavioral change, promoting a zero-waste lifestyle, making mindful purchases to avoid plastic-wrapped produce, and steering clear of bulk promotions that lead to unused items. By implementing these steps, we can significantly reduce food waste and foster sustainable practices within our community. #FoodWaste #Sustainability #ZeroWaste #Leadership #ConnectKaro2024
🍽️A huge shoutout to everyone who made the Zero Food Waste initiative at #ConnectKaro2024 a resounding success! 🙌 Your commitment to reducing food waste and embracing sustainability is truly inspiring. Swipe to see snippets of speakers, guests and WRI India team supporting this initiative. Together, we took small steps—like opting for smaller portions, going for second helpings only when needed, and making sure no leftovers were left behind. Our collective actions not only helped minimize waste but also showcased how every little effort counts towards a greener future. Here’s to more sustainable events and a cleaner planet! 💚 Know more about WRI India's work towards reducing food loss and food waste: https://lnkd.in/g7W3q4bR #ZeroFoodWaste #SustainableEvents #FoodWasteWarriors #ConnectKaro2024 #FoodLoss #FoodWaste Dr. Ruchika Singh | FT Subhaprada Nishtala | Swati Agarwal | Devinder Dhingra | Shobha Raghavan | Mimansha S. | Srishti Kochhar | Rajat Pandey | Oindrila Basu | Ritoja Basu | Omer Fayaz | Raghav Srivastava | Dr. Shivangi Arvind | Sumit Roy | Shweta Lamba | Dr. Nitya Sharma | Dr. Anar Bhatt | Dr. Shwetmala Kashyap| Shweta P. | Meenakshi Kakar | Kritika Gadhvi

Today, I had the privilege of visiting SAIM operated by Saahas Zero Waste and WWF-India MRF (Material Recovery Facility) plant Goa , and I am truly amazed by the incredible work they are doing! From handling vast amounts of waste ,separating valuable resources, providing livelihood to women to providing waste education to locals the initiatives I saw are a big step toward creating a cleaner and greener future. However, during our conversations, we realized that the most common problems in waste management can't be solved by machines, technology or AI alone. What we need is behavioral change—and that starts with awareness. No matter how advanced the tools become, it’s human action that makes the difference. We need more and more awareness campaigns that educate people about segregation, recycling, and reducing waste at the source. Change begins with each of us making informed, conscious choices every day. Let’s push for a future where waste isn’t just managed—it's minimized, reused, and respected. Thank you Riya Raul VISHNU MOHAN Anirudha Munj srijan mishra For taking time to answer my all curious questions and beautiful upcycled gift. #Sustainability #WasteManagement #CircularEconomy #BehaviorChange #AwarenessCampaigns #ZeroWaste #GreenFuture
