The article is co-authored by Crispino Lobo, Co-founder & Managing Trustee, WOTR and Eshwer Kale, Thematic Lead, W-CReS. This edition of the 'MEDC Economic Digest', themed "Water: From Scarcity to Sustainability," focuses on Maharashtra's innovative water management strategies. WOTR's article specifically delves into the state's efforts in community-driven water management, soil and water conservation, and the development of a robust regulatory framework. The article also highlights the importance of the Water Governance Standard (WGS), a tool designed to assess village-level water management across four key modules: governance and regulations, water supply, demand management, and equity and sustainability.
