On this World Nature Conservation Day, the SankalpTaru Foundation is proud to highlight the Molai Forest 2.0 Project, a groundbreaking afforestation initiative in collaboration with the Forest Man of India, Padma Shri, Jadav Payeng. Situated along the shores of the Brahmaputra River in Assam, this tech-enabled project aims to restore the riverine ecosystem, revitalize the hydrological cycle, and enhance biodiversity through the plantation of diverse native species. The positive impact extends beyond environmental restoration; it significantly benefits the Mishing Tribe and other tribal communities in the area by providing sustainable livelihoods and fostering a deeper connection to their natural surroundings. By integrating advanced technology with community involvement, Molai Forest 2.0 is not only rejuvenating the landscape but also empowering local tribes, ensuring a harmonious balance between nature and human well-being. About us
SankalpTaru Foundation is India's first IT enabled NGO, planting trees from the majestic mountains of Leh Ladakh to the coasts of Tamil Nadu. Operational across 25 Indian states and 35 major cities, we have planted and survived more than 30,00,000 trees. We are dedicated towards the sustainable development of the planet and also promote rural livelihood, empower women and work towards making schools cleaner and greener. Our team aims at reducing the carbon footprint of the global public, while mobilizing them for environmental conservation. Through GPS technology integrated with Google Earth and Maps, we have devised geo-tagging of trees, thus providing visibility and transparency to our stakeholders and contributors.

One of our most ambitious projects is the creation of a vast forest near the Indrayani River, Pune, spanning over 250 acres with a periphery of more than 6 kilometers. Conforming to our initiative #MissionH20, the afforestation project includes the establishment of a significant water body designed for rainwater harvesting. This not only helps conserve water but also ensures a steady supply for trees and plants throughout the year. Additionally, we harness solar energy to power our efforts, creating a self-sustaining system that reduces our carbon footprint. By integrating tree planting with water conservation, we are creating a harmonious and sustainable ecosystem. This approach not only enriches habitats for flora and fauna but also significantly enhances biodiversity. The thriving ecosystem supports a variety of species, contributing to the overall health and balance of the environment. Furthermore, our efforts have a positive impact on the local community. Improved green spaces and enhanced biodiversity contribute to better air quality, more recreational spaces, and increased environmental awareness among city dwellers. #SankalpTaruFoundation #MissionH20 #IndrayaniRiver #IndrayaniForest #Pune #SustainableForestry #GreenForests #WaterConservation #SolarEnergy #Biodiversity #CommunityWellbeing #GreenerTomorrow #EnvironmentalRestoration #SustainablePractices

Once a barren land, Project Bhavnam flourishes with vibrant greenery and has become a haven for thriving flora and fauna. In line with our #MissionH20, the plantation site is supported by an in-house water body and a solar-powered drip irrigation system. Ensuring a consistent water supply to sustain the plantation site, this water body is also contributing to biodiversity enhancement, soil health improvement, a natural filtration system, and conducive microclimate regulation. Our team of Foresters and Environmental Scientists have worked tirelessly to turn these desolate areas into thriving ecosystems. The true testament to our efforts is the sight of dancing peacocks during the monsoons, symbolizing the enchanting impact of afforestation on restoring ecological balance. #SankalpTaruFoundation #ProjectBhavnam #Afforestation #MissionH20 #SustainableLiving #EcoRestoration #GreenDelhi #FloraAndFauna #SolarPoweredDripIrrigation #EcologicalBalance #Monsoons

Transforming a rain shadow and barren area near Mussoorie in the Uttarakhand Himalayas by planting Oak trees and #MissionH20!
Celebrating #Harela with #MissionH2O: Creating Greenery in the Rain Shadow near Mussoorie..! Harela is a traditional festival celebrated in Uttarakhand, marking the onset of the monsoon and symbolizing prosperity and environmental harmony. During Harela, people plant saplings and sow seeds, reflecting their reverence for nature and commitment to nurturing the earth. In honor of Harela, SankalpTaru Foundation is currently strengthening an ambitious program to transform a rain shadow and barren area near Mussoorie in the Uttarakhand Himalayas. We've been planting Oak trees (Quercus Leucotrichophora) locally known as Baanj, to create a lush green landscape and rejuvenate water springs. To support these plants, we've also constructed a large Water Pond to harvest rainwater, ensuring they thrive even in challenging conditions. This Harela, we've mobilized Communities, Public Representatives, Environmentalists, and Local Administration to join our plantation drive, turning this festival into a celebration of life, growth, and sustainability. Together, we are making a significant impact on the environment and contributing to a greener future. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in this mission. Let's continue to plant hope and nurture our planet! #MissionH2O #Harela #SankalpTaru #Sustainability #TreePlantation #GreenInitiative #CommunityEngagement #RainwaterHarvesting #Environment #Mussoorie #ClimateAction #Reforestation #RainShadow #WaterConservation #Biodiversity #GreenPlanet #CSR

With the aim to increase green coverage (approximately 700+ acres) and sequester carbon emissions (approximately 74K tons) through strategic tree plantations in 15 states across India, Project UPHAAR by Kia India and SankalpTaru Foundation is fundamentally geared towards uplifting farmer-beneficiaries, particularly women and low-income farmers, by providing fruit-bearing saplings as an additional income source, and creating a massive carbon sink for the surrounding areas. The Himalayas, considered Earth's pivotal axis and the world's longest mountain range, face severe vulnerability from climate change exacerbated by carbon emissions. This environmental crisis profoundly impacts Himalayan farmers, whose livelihoods are increasingly threatened by erratic weather patterns, soil degradation, shifting growing seasons, economic instability, and glacier melts diminishing water resources. In response, the SankalpTaru Foundation launches "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam," encouraging people to plant apple trees in Ladakh, supporting affected farmers, and ensuring a legacy of love and maternal warmth, reverberating in the Himalayan region for future generations.
