45 Post Graduate students of SGT College of Pharmacy, SGT University, Gurugram, Haryana were participated in 19th International Conference of Drug Regulatory Authorities (ICDRA), organized by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, in collaboration with World Health Organization (WHO), with the theme “Smart Regulation: Delivering Quality Assured Medical Products for All” at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka Expressway, New Delhi. The students have got exposure of discussions on quality issues, regulatory reforms and strengthening regulatory systems, safety of medical products, detection, prevention and response to substandard and falsified medical products, access to quality medical products, smart regulation of clinical trials, regulatory collaboration, harmonization, rationalization and reliance, access to new and novel technologies, regulation of novel medical products, regulation of herbal medicines, etc. The students have been interacted with many Pharmaceutical Companies such as Cipla, Lupin, Merck, Mankind, ICMR, Ayush, IPC, PCI, SUN Pharma, Ajanta Pharma, Neepure Pharma, Biocon etc. in Exhibitions of the Conference. Students had the opportunity from various company for the internship and training especially in the field of Drug Regulatory Affairs. The visit emphasized the practical application of pharmaceutical concepts in a real-world setting. Overall, it was a valuable experience that enriched students' understanding of regulations in the pharmaceutical sector. One-day workshop titled “Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP): Significance of cGMP Guidelines for Quality in the Pharmaceutical Industry” was organized for M.Pharm students at SGT College of Pharmacy, SGT University, Gurugram, Haryana, on Thursday, October 10th, 2024. The event commenced with an overview of cGMP principles delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Bhalla, Dean of SGT College of Pharmacy. Following this introduction, student teams were assigned specific projects, with guidance and mentorship provided by their respective mentors throughout the workshop. The performance of each team was thoroughly assessed by Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Bhalla, along with faculty members Dr. Ravikant, Dr. Mukesh, Dr. Neelkant, and Dr. Sandeep. The workshop was convened under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Atul Nasa, Pro Vice-Chancellor of SGT University, and Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Bhalla, Dean of SGT College of Pharmacy. World Pharmacist Day is celebrated on September 25 every year to appreciate and highlight the contributions of pharmacists in global health systems. This day aims to raise awareness about the crucial roles and responsibilities of Pharmacist in improving patient health and safety, as well as the overall welfare of society. SGT College of Pharmacy, SGT University has celebrated World Pharmacist Day with the theme Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs on 24th and 25th September 2024. The eminent Guest of honour of the event was Ms. Sohiny Sharma, Regulatory Affairs Manager, GlaxoSmithekine Asia Pvt. Ltd. (Haleon). Ms. Sohiny emphasized the vital role of Pharmacist in promoting rational use of drugs, responsible use of antibiotics, and may advocate for policy changes to improve health outcomes. The event also included Felicitation of Community Pharmacist, GPAT Rank Holders, Pharm D students with badges, Winners of various activities such as Pharma Fusion: The Ultimate fusion face off, Pharma Brain Battle, RX Creative Clash: Advertise to Win, Pharma Spelling Frenzy: Challenge your Knowledge, Exploring Global Responsibilities: Global Pharma Insights, Starquest, Reel making Competition, RX Category Cracker: The Drug Category Puzzle face off and Food Fiesta. More than 250 participants including faculty members and students of M. Pharm, B. Pharm, D. Pharm and Pharm. D attended the event with interest and zeal. World Pharmacist Day is celebrated on 25th September every year , this year too SGTCOP started the celebration with full zeal and enthusiasm. On 23rd and 24th September, around 22 pharmacists across the NCR (covering West Delhi and Gurugram) were facilitated by SGTCOP family with white coats. The white coats were sponsored by IPGA , New Delhi. In a Patient centric wellness-oriented healthcare delivery system, patient safety is of paramount importance and hence Pharmacovigilance becomes a vital discipline of clinical science. On the occasion of 4th National Pharmacovigilance week September 17–23, 2024, SGT College of Pharmacy in collaboration with Herbokon Association, Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and NCC- PvPI, SGT University, Gurugram, organized a guest lecture with theme “Adverse Event Monitoring in the Age of Al: Innovations in Pharmacovigilance”. The eminent speaker of event was Dr Sakshi Rastogi, the Pharmacovigilance specialist, Senior Director and Head Life Sciences Centre of Excellence (CoE). The main objective of this event was to promote pharmacovigilance, medical affairs, adverse event monitoring among students. Dr Sakshi emphasised the importance of reporting an adverse drug reaction in health care settings as well as briefed the process of reporting events for better patient outcome. She made lecture more interactive by giving case scenario, asking questions in between sessions and gifting the students with candies. She also introduced the role of Artificial intelligence by enhancing opportunities to collect adverse event reports. Student expressed interest by raising queries related to their job career, scope and opportunities in field of pharmacovigilance. More than 250 participants including faculty members and students of M. Pharm, B. Pharm and Pharm. D, MBBS, Physiotherapy attended the event with interest and zeal. The event was convened by Prof. Vijay Bhalla, Dean, SGT College of Pharmacy and coordinated by team members of Herbokon Assocation. SGT College of Pharmacy, in collaboration with API and NCC-PvPI, hosted an Interfaculty e-Poster Competition on September 19, 2024, during National Pharmacovigilance Week. The theme, "Patient Safety First: The Pillar of Pharmacovigilance," highlighted the role of pharmacovigilance in healthcare. Judged by Ms. Poonam Ahlawat and Dr. Sushma Maratha, the competition saw enthusiastic participation.
