Entrepreneurship soon after engineering was considered a joke/mistake in 1996.. My story after engineering 👇 I had a distinction throughout in Electronics and Communication (SJCE 1996 pass-out).. I was neither interested in going out of country for masters nor in getting employed.. I wanted to be an entrepreneur.. 1. Enrolled into an entrepreneurship training (SJCE-STEP).. 2. Was sent to BEL Bangalore for industrial exposure.. One AGM there, saw my will to start a business and told me to quit BEL and start something.. 3. Moved to Kolar (my parents).. Started a trading business in electrical plastic pipes.. I was groomed by a Marwari family.. Mr. Pannalal taught me ethics and business.. Gratitude.. 4. Started Kolar's 1st Internet Kiosk in 1998.. And continued the plastics trading.. 5. Upgraded Internet Kiosk to Medical Transcription Centre.. Lots of learnings but was unable to manage them due to inexperience.. 6. Closed all my businesses and got into electronic chip design role in Tata Elxsi.. Over 17 years of corporate experience (CoreEL Technologies.. Mistral Solutions.. Honeywell Aerospace).. I got to perform hands on technical role, pure sales role in the US and technical pre sales back in India.. Enjoyed all of them.. Learnt a lot.. Gratitude to that phase of life.. 8. In between my corporate career of 17 years.. Quit Bangalore (due to traffic) and settled in Mysore.. Only to relocate to Hyderabad in six months.. 9. Finally in Hyderabad.. I learnt adventure skills.. Camping, rock climbing, rappelling and conducting events.. 10. In 2018 Jan quit my job and started travel startup.. Focusing on Northeast India.. Meghalaya, Sikkim, Arunachal, Nagaland, Manipur and Bhutan.. 11. Kids quit school in 2019.. Wife quit job in 2019.. We realized the potential of RoadSchooling/Unschooling/Travel.. #JeevanaShikshana.. 12. 2020.. Lockdown happened.. Our travel and travel business stopped.. I didn't go back to job.. Lot of our savings got used.. However we helped a lot of families to get into alternate education.. 13. In 18 months of lockdown.. I spoke to atleast 1500 families and helped them gain insights and fundamentals of alternate education.. 14. 2021 Lockdown ended.. Travel business boomed.. We became debt free.. Gratitude to all the people who helped us become who we are now..
