Imagine if every event prioritized the planet as much as the experience. ✨ At the soulful Satvic Fest in Bangalore, that was the mission: to go Zero Waste and leave no trace behind. 🌍 We were proud to partner with the event, embedding sustainable practices from pre-event planning through post-event impact reporting. On this inspiring day, attendees enjoyed healthy food, soulful music, and engaging workshops. From waste reduction strategies and segregation stations to plastic-free food courts and water stations, every detail was designed to minimise the event’s environmental footprint. ♻ Even the decor—featuring reusable elements like cloth buntings and plants—was thoughtfully chosen to tread lightly on the planet. 🌿 And yes, the delicious satvic food was definitely one of the perks of the job! 😉 In all, 566 kgs of waste was managed, and over 95% was diverted from landfills and incinerators. This festival showed that celebration and sustainability can go hand-in-hand. 💚 #ZeroWaste #ZeroWasteEvents #LeaveNoTrace #SatvicFest #SkrapSustainability Satvic Movement

We provide Zero Waste and Sustainability Services for Businesses
About us
Skrap is an environment sustainability firm that provides zero waste and sustainability services for businesses. In India, we generate over 62 million tonnes of trash annually, yet, the conversation around sustainability and responsible waste management is at a fairly nascent stage. The garbage that we throw 'away' each day, is typically collected and discarded into unscientific landfills or dumping grounds that has serious ecological repercussions. And worse yet, this waste is often burnt, buried in pits or discarded into water bodies. These unsustainable practices have an enormous negative impact on the environment and local communities. Through our projects, we work closely with clients to help achieve their goal of achieving zero-waste-to-landfill. This is implemented through a host of waste reduction and waste management measures coupled with sustainability workshops and campaigns to inch towards developing a pro-sustainability mindset. In addition, as a social enterprise, we work closely with NGOs that work toward the upliftment of waste-workers community in India and help with job creation. Our clients include renowned organisations such as Insider.in, Mahindra Finance, MiQ Digital, as well as large festivals like such as Mahindra Blues, Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Youtube FanFest, and SBI Green Marathon. Skrap has been featured in publications such as Outlook Business, The Hindu, Better India, The Indian Express and Mid-Day.

"Every day, I walk along this beach to take in the sunsets and ground myself. But it’s also become a daily reminder of the trash we leave behind." These words from a participant at our Ganpati Visarjan Community Cleanup at Prabhadevi Beach struck a chord. This week, he wasn’t alone. Over 60 volunteers came together, and as we rolled up our sleeves, we uncovered the truth beneath the sand. Flowers, tiny pieces of plastic, broken idols, festival remnants, and even surprising finds like broken tiles. Thanks, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation for all the support with the cleanup. We collected close to 430 kgs of waste 🗑️And the biggest takeaway was clear: the cleanup starts at home. If we can change how we manage our waste at its source, we can protect our beaches and ensure they stay beautiful. 🏖️🐚 From hidden plastic to heartfelt stories, this cleanup reminded us of the power we have to make a difference. One small action at a time. 🌊💚 #internationalcoastalcleanupday #beachcleanup #sustainability #communityaction

In a small, quiet town nestled among coffee plantations, a childhood playground has transformed into a bustling tourist hub. For one of our workshop participants, this change hit close to home. Growing up, he played among the coffee plants that now attract large crowds, straining natural resources and overwhelming local waste management systems. In contrast to the large conglomerates that set up massive hotels, his friends started eco-friendly homestays to protect the area's biodiversity and help tourists tread with care.🌳 We enjoyed the experiences and stories shared during our Sustainable Travel workshop for SCOR. 💚 We explored how slow travel can help us experience authentic local cultures through local cuisines, help preserve biodiversity, and leave nothing but footprints. 👣 Here are 3 simple tips for embracing slow travel: 🍴Carry your reusables - ditch the single-use cutlery, bottles and cups 🏡Stay local - choose eco-friendly accommodations that support the community 👣Leave no trace - be mindful of waste and leave places as we find them Bonus tip: Avoid the rush to discover ‘hidden gems’! #SustainableTravel #SlowTravel #WorldTourismDay #SustainabilityWorkshops #TravelTips

☕ Did you know it takes a whopping 140 litres of water to produce coffee beans for just one cup of coffee? That’s enough to fill an entire bathtub! 🛁 With such a significant water footprint, what if we could make every cup count for more? In our DIY upcycling coffee painting workshop we created natural paint from used coffee grounds. Through a simple guided process, participants brought a Mountain Memories scene to life, transforming what was once coffee waste into art. 🖼️ As brushes moved across the canvas, conversations flowed, and Monday evening turned into a time to unwind with colleagues. 💚 We loved how participants turned their artwork into postcards, ready to send a little piece of this special evening to loved ones. 💌 From cup to canvas, we gave those coffee grounds a second life. #Sustainability #Upcycling #CoffeePainting #CreativeWorkshops #TeamBonding #internationalcoffeeday

What happens when young changemakers come together to learn and discuss one of our planet's biggest challenges? 🌍 We had the pleasure of conducting an online workshop for young school students on Beating Plastic Pollution, with United Way Mumbai 🌳 Together, we uncovered the effects of plastic pollution on our environment and wildlife. 🥤A quiz about the history, evolution, and current state of plastic pollution got the virtual room buzzing with excitement. ✔️We discussed 5 simple swaps to reduce disposable plastics. ♻️And upcycled plastic 'waste' into bird feeders and microgreen trays. At Skrap, we’re thrilled to see the next generation so eager to take positive climate action! 💚 #BeatPlasticPollution #YouthForChange #Sustainability #ZeroWaste #Skrap #Upcycling

We spent a wonderful day with the LinkedIn team at an organic farm in Bangalore. Working with soil can not only build a connection with nature 🌿 but can also be therapeutic for us. 💡 Did you know - scientists have found that soil bacterium like Mycobacterium Vaccae can trigger the release of serotonin, which can help reduce anxiety and improve our mood. At the farm, our day was carefully curated and planned. Participants prepared beds for sowing, planted seeds, collected leaves 🍃 for mulching, and watered the beds. We also had a fun Scavenger Hunt, with winners scoring a nourishing soil mix and native seeds. 🌻 The takeaways were as rich as the soil. Folks pledged to start composting, switch to natural products, spend more time gardening 🌱 and source fresh organic produce from local farmers. Walking barefoot on the cool, soft soil was therapeutic and grounding. 🌍 🌳 The farm day was filled with laughter, learning and teamwork. We closed the day with a scrumptious farm-to-table meal featuring organic ingredients straight from the farm. 🍲 🥕 Thank you LinkedIn Bangalore team for having us host this day full of dirt, delight, and discovery. 🌟 #gogreen #organicfarm #volunteering #sustainability
