Pinnapuram PSP, India – The nation's premier fully integrated renewable energy initiative has entered its final phase, marked by a significant milestone achieved in late July 2024. ANDRITZ successfully dry spun the first unit, a testament to the enduring support and collaboration with our esteemed client, Greenko, whose proactive support and engagement is beyond commendation. The unit was spun up to the rated test limit along with the Static Frequency Converter (SFC) and completed the operation in synchronous condenser mode. This momentous event was achieved in the presence of our client and partners. The successful implementation of the dry spinning process with SFC for the initial unit sets the stage for optimizing the commissioning schedule for subsequent units. This achievement potentially establishes a new benchmark for the installation and commissioning timelines of future projects. We are proud to announce that the dry spinning of Unit 1 was accomplished within a remarkable seven-month period from the readiness of the barrel. This success is attributed to numerous cycle time reductions in the pre-assemblies of the guide apparatus, Main Inlet Valve and pressure test, stay rings, and spiral cases.
