To stay on track for the 1.5°C climate goal, India needs to boost its wind and solar energy generation five-fold by 2030, according to a joint report by Climate Analytics and the New Climate Institute. While India has made impressive strides in renewables, the country must ramp up efforts to meet over 600 GW of wind and solar capacity in the next 6 years to reduce reliance on coal and meet its growing energy demands. This is not just India’s challenge. Across 11 countries—responsible for over 70% of current wind and solar power—renewable energy must grow five times by 2030 and eight times by 2035 to keep us on the #Below2°C path.  India’s progress is commendable, but the road ahead demands faster action. We're elated to announce the successful commissioning of the next phase (45MWp) of our 75MWp solar project in Karnataka! With this, we have commissioned a total of 55 MWp of this project. The project is expected to generate a substantial 1.5 Billion units of clean solar energy annually while offsetting 1.2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment. The project spans across 200 acres and has secured long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with leading C&I businesses in various sectors, including healthcare & pharma, auto components, steel, and chemicals. These strategic partnerships demonstrate the growing demand for reliable and sustainable energy solutions among diverse industries. A new report from the IEA highlights the need for stronger integration measures to ensure solar and wind can efficiently power our grids. Without these, we risk a 15% drop in electricity generation from these renewables by 2030—threatening the progress we've made. As we race to keep global warming below 2°C, the rapid growth of solar and wind energy is a major win for clean energy transitions. Between 2018 and 2023, global solar PV and wind capacity more than doubled, bringing us closer to a decarbonized future. However, challenges lie ahead that must be addressed to fully unlock their potential.  Most of the tech needed is already available. What we need now is bold policy action and smart regulations to keep clean energy transitions moving securely.
