Hello World!
Had a fantastic time at the September Meetup by Swift Mumbai at HERE Technologies, NESCO IT Park, Goregaon!
This was my second meetup at Swift Mumbai, and I'm continuing to be impressed by the amazing community and insightful talks.
A big shoutout to the organizers, Yogesh Singh, Akanksha Sharma, and Raj Raval, for putting together such a great event. It's incredible to think that Swift Mumbai has already hosted 16+ meetups!
We started with a brief introduction to Swift Mumbai, followed by a fascinating session on Swift 6: Supercharged with Concurrency by Nikhil Dange. Nikhil's deep dive into the new features and capabilities of Swift 6 was truly enlightening. He provided a comprehensive overview of concurrency, actor model, sendable protocol, improved error handling, and noncopyable types. Nikhil's explanations were clear, concise, and easy to follow, even for those who were new to Swift or concurrency concepts.
Next, Rushit Rakhasiya took the stage to discuss AI Supercharged: AI Meets App. His practical demonstration of App Intents and Apple Intelligence was both informative and inspiring. Rushit explained the importance of SiriKit and how App Intents can be used to create more intelligent and engaging apps. He also provided a live coding demo to illustrate how App Intents can be integrated into Swift projects.
The final session, The Future of Fitting: Building a Virtual Try-On with ARKit by Ayush N., provided a glimpse into the exciting possibilities of AR technology. Ayush's explanation of the challenges and solutions involved in hand tracking was incredibly insightful. He discussed the importance of accuracy and client-side computation without relying on a dedicated ML model. Ayush's presentation was both informative and thought-provoking, and it sparked interesting discussions among the attendees.
Overall, it was a fantastic event filled with learning, networking, and inspiration. I'm grateful to be part of such a vibrant community. Thanks again to Swift Mumbai and the organizers for making this meetup a success!
