Always inspiring to be part of conversations that push the boundaries of climate innovation. At the Mosambi Climate Conference, we explored AI’s potential to drive sustainability while addressing its own resource demands. Grateful to the panelists and organizers for an insightful discussion! #AIforClimate #ClimateInnovation #Sustainability

In recent times, there has been a surge of interest in all aspects of AI adoption—its potential opportunities, the risks associated with its widespread (and possibly unchecked) use, and the challenges we face in promoting productive and resource-efficient applications of this highly capable technology. While AI's expansion requires critical minerals, significant energy, and water resources, it also offers powerful solutions for improving resource efficiency, enhancing energy resilience, and driving sustainability. At the Mosambi Climate Conference by Climate Collective, I had the privilege of joining an engaging panel discussion titled "Can AI Save the Planet? Digging Deeper into the Potential of AI Technologies," alongside distinguished panelists Sundeep Reddy Mallu, Priyank Hirani, and Urmi Tat, moderated by Charu Chadha. Here are some key takeaways from the panel: ✅ Major tech companies are employing multi-faceted strategies to decarbonize their AI operations ✅ AI applications for climate mitigation, resilience, and adaptation, include grid optimization, real-time transmission monitoring, flexible demand management, precision agriculture, seed genomics, climate risk modeling, predicting climate events with hyperlocal risk assessment, and data-driven climate resilience planning ✅ Concerns include the need to avoid biases, ensure accuracy, and address exceptions to support reliable insights for real-world decision-making Thanks to Uday Khemka for providing opening remarks for our panel and an inspiring keynote address. A big thank you to my fellow panelists for an insightful discussion, and kudos to Nalin Agarwal, Pratap Raju, Jui Joshi, Shimoli Patel Khurana, and Samriddhi Bhardwaj for making this session and the entire conference a tremendous success! #climatetech #energy #AI #AIforClimate Synapses
