Exciting News from Testpress! Over the past few years, we've received multiple requests for a feature that’s gained significant attention since COVID-19: Auto Proctoring for online assessments. These requests primarily came from new inbound inquiries, rather than our existing customers. Until now, we chose not to develop this feature for three key reasons: 1) It wasn't a requirement for our primary customer segments (Indian Test Prep Institutes). 2) Established players in the market already offering solutions in this space. 3) Auto Proctoring is typically needed for high-stakes exams like hiring assessments and certifications, which are outside our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP). As a bootstrapped company, we’ve always focused on allocating our resources effectively to sustain profitability and growth. However, we recently faced a compelling opportunity that we couldn’t ignore. A leading unicorn approached us with a unique challenge that the market leader couldn’t solve: they needed Auto Proctoring at scale, but at just 1/10th of the current market cost. Given our substantial growth and profitability since 2020, we are now in a position to invest in developing this feature. We believe that offering Auto Proctored assessments at a significantly lower cost will not only expand our Total Addressable Market (TAM) but also help us achieve our ambitious goal of reaching 100 Crores ARR by 2027. When we speak with our customers, most of them use WhatsApp to solve the students' queries. One of the major reasons they use WhatsApp is that students can easily send images of textbooks or notes, along with voice notes. However, they face significant challenges: - Both students' and teachers' phone numbers get exposed, making it difficult to maintain privacy. - It is challenging to track doubts and categorize them. - The same doubts are often asked by more than one student, requiring the organization to respond repeatedly to queries that have already been addressed by a teacher. We've developed our Doubt Management Tool with these issues and advantages in mind. Here is how it works: - Students can ask their doubts directly from the mobile app. - While posting a doubt, students can categorize it under the topics and subtopics set by the institutions. - Students can also send voice notes and images of their doubts. - The admin can assign doubts to staff members, and they can be easily tracked. - Teachers can respond to the doubts directly from their mobile phones or email. We don't want to introduce AI for the sake of it; we focus on specific applications that deliver real value. Recently, we've introduced a specific-purpose AI for generating subtitles and transcripts in our newly launched product, TPStreams.com. There are many software engineering courses hosted on TPstreams, and our customers want to provide subtitles at a nominal cost to their students. For one of our clients, NamasteDev.com, we helped them generate subtitles for hundreds of hours of their video library in just a few hours. Guess what? It's 100% accurate! We've many AI based ideas in pipeline that can be implemented in both Testpress and TPStreams and we're constantly figuring out how to help our customers through general AI or narrow AI. It's our 10th birthday! Did you know in 2014, online education wasn't popular as now? Yet, we wanted to take the education to the students in remote villages preparing for competitive exams. Back then, convincing institutions to adopt online learning wasn't easy. But one by one, we helped them reach hundreds of students each. Fast forward to today, Testpress has empowered over 1000 institutions and impacted over 20 lakh students! We're currently serving over 5 lakh students annually, and this year, we achieved a significant milestone – becoming a $1Mn ARR company. The journey has been incredible, and we owe it to our dedicated team and our amazing customers who trusted us. But this is just the beginning.
