Empowering Sustainable Futures We're thrilled to share that our CEO, Vivek Anand, and Advocacy Manager Sudhanshu Latad (He/ His/ Him) represented The Humsafar Trust at the recent PEPFAR , USAID and FHI 360 EpiC Project supported consultation on sustainable financing for HIV CSOs. Vivek shared his insights on successful CSR strategies that have empowered us to drive impactful change within LGBTQ+ communities. The discussion was enriched by the expertise of panelists like Shanu Saxena, Arun Nathan, Dr. Priti Bhombe, and @Vivek Prakash, with engaging moderation by Joydeep Sen and a thoughtful summary by Dr Rita Prasad. The day began with powerful context setting from Sumita Taneja, Michelle Ali Lang, David Bridger, Daxa Patel, and Stephanie Marienau Turpin, laying a strong foundation for the discussions ahead. We were inspired by the success stories of Queer Bazaar & Stories Cafe, social enterprises led by Samuel (Shyam) Konnur (He/Him) and Ram from Mist LGBTQ Foundation, which were shared during the consultation. The event also delved into innovative financing avenues such as CSR, Social Enterprises, Debt-Equity-Blended Financing, Social Stock Exchange, and Returnable Grants, with insights from experts like Smeeta Basak, Kamal Chhabra, and Himanshu Sikka. A standout moment was Parul Soni’s introduction to the Social Stock Exchange, offering invaluable food for thought as we move towards sustainable financing. The day concluded with a powerful message from Deepika Srivastava Joshi on the importance of these efforts, while Stephanie and Sumita presented a beautifully designed recap of the day’s learnings, crafted by Ipsita.
