Dixon Technologies India Limited, an Indian electronics manufacturer, announced the creation of a wholly-owned subsidiary named Dixon Teletech, which will focus on the production of IT hardware components. Although the subsidiary was officially established on September 28, the parent company completed the subscription payment on November 4. In a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange Limited (BSE), Dixon Technologies outlined that the new subsidiary aims to “manufacture and deal” in various IT hardware products and components. The company has subscribed to 10,000 equity shares of the subsidiary at a face value of INR 10 each, totaling a cash investment of INR 1 lakh. Dixon is targeting revenues of INR 3,500 crore from its IT hardware segment by the fiscal year 2025-26 and aims for a total of INR 48,000 crore over the next six years. In early 1999, I found myself making a big shift—from Delhi’s buzz to Bangalore’s emerging industry landscape, diving deep into the manufacturing sector through my media work. One of my first encounters there was with a small, bustling setup tucked away opposite Krishnarajapuram Railway Station: igus GmbH a German multinational operating on a shoestring in true entrepreneurial spirit. It was there I met Antony Kurien, a charismatic leader whose vision and energy were unmistakable. Back then, igus India was a modest outfit, with just a handful of people. But, like many entrepreneurs from Kerala, Antony had this knack for weaving his heritage into his work. He brought in friends, family, and folks from his hometown, creating a close-knit team that felt as much like a family as a company. Time rolled on, and as I watched, Igus India grew—steadily, almost quietly—until suddenly it was anything but small. The team expanded from a handful to hundreds, propelled by young, dynamic leaders Deepak Paul and Santhosh K Jacob who took the reins from Antony and carried Igus India to new heights with incredible vision and dedication. Eventually, Antony himself moved on from Igus India, making his way to Dubai, where he took on the challenge of expanding Igus in the Middle East. Years later, as I was visiting ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi interacting with Mayank Khatan and Sudhakar Badiger of Pune Techtrol Pvt. Ltd stall, I spotted a familiar face in the crowd. There was Antony Kurien, radiating that same boundless energy that first drew me to him years ago—perhaps even more so, if that was possible. Catching up with him was like stepping back into the past but with the thrill of the present. ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel have announced #partnership and to set up a Greenfield steel plant in Andhra Pradesh with a capacity of 17.8 million tonnes, under a joint venture called ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India . The project, involving an investment of ₹1.4 lakh crore, will be developed in two phases. The first phase will focus on a blast furnace steel plant with a capacity of 7.3 million tonnes, requiring ₹80,000 crore. The foundation stone is expected to be laid in early 2025 by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The plant will be located near Nakkapalli in Anakapalli district, benefiting from its port access and raw material availability. The Andhra Pradesh government is also providing land for the project, with significant support from IT Minister Nara Lokesh in securing the investment.
