This workshop marked a significant milestone in our collective journey towards enhancing national security, bringing together defense personnel from various branches to explore the dynamic landscape of drone technology. Our recent Workshop on Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) at IIT Guwahati was a dynamic blend of academia and industry, held from March 30th to April 3rd, 2024. Organized with the Technology Innovation and Development Foundation, it aimed to delve into CPS fundamentals, AI/ML/IoT integration, and advanced modeling. The curriculum covered diverse topics from sensors to smart materials, offering a holistic view of Industry 4.0. Participants delved into sessions on next-gen sensors, AR, ML, and machine learning, gaining insights into their application in smart manufacturing. Highlights included discussions on smart AUVs for underwater exploration, showcasing cutting-edge tech in aquatic environments. Industry experts shared practical insights on CPS integration and energy-efficient computing, complemented by demonstrations from Siemens and EDS Technologies on digital manufacturing and IoT. With 52 participants from academia and industry, the workshop fostered collaboration and knowledge exchange. Engaging discussions and hands-on workshops fueled exploration of CPS and Industry 4.0 advancements. In essence, it acted as a catalyst for innovation, bridging theory and practice to shape a smarter, more connected future.
