The first edition of the Bharat Sports Science Conclave 2024, themed around #VisionOlympics2036, brought together thought-provoking discussions, exploring modern advancements in sports science. Deepthi Bopaiah, CEO of GoSports Foundation, provided insights into athlete support systems in India as a panellist of the discussion titled ‘Mission Olympics 2036: Importance of Training Load Monitoring and Periodization in Long Term Athlete Development’. Alongside renowned experts including Cmdr Pushpendra Garg, CEO, TOPS, Mr Rahul Bose, President, Rugby India, Dr Wayne Lombard Ph.D., Co-Founder, APA Training System Pvt. Ltd. and Brig Dr B K Nayak, Director Incharge, NCSSR, provided a comprehensive and insightful dialogue on the crucial role of sports science in nurturing potential and fostering athletic excellence. The conclave, hosted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India along with TransStadia University, provided a platform to practitioners, experts, and athletes to explore the latest advancements in sports science, which is recognised as one of the key factors towards making India a sporting powerhouse while also accelerating efforts towards the national vision of hosting the 2036 Olympics. It was a pleasure to be part of the inaugural Bharat Sports Science Conclave 2024. I extend my gratitude to Shri Udit Sheth ji, Founder and Chairman of TransStadia University and President of Yogasana Bharat, as well as the entire team at Transstadia for organizing this event where scientific discussion and deliberations are taking place among the stakeholders. The Government under the able leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji believes in the active stakeholder involvement and engagement for the comprehensive development of Bharat’s sporting ecosystem. Sports science plays a crucial role in helping athletes understand their strengths, address weaknesses, and focus their efforts towards achieving their goals.
