With tourism bouncing back stronger than ever, Greece is stepping up to address the pressing issue of over-tourism. The introduction of a €20 cruise ship fee is just one part of a larger initiative to protect the country’s breathtaking islands like Santorini and Mykonos, while ensuring that the needs of local communities and the environment are prioritized. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis highlights the importance of sustainable tourism, stressing the need to alleviate the strain on infrastructure and preserve natural beauty for generations to come. Greece isn’t alone—countries like Spain, New Zealand, Italy, and Japan are also taking bold steps to counter the impact of over-tourism. 🔗 Read more on how Greece is reshaping tourism: https://lnkd.in/gKEz2Rkk #SustainableTourism #OverTourism #ResponsibleTravel #Greece #TravelReform #EcoFriendlyTravel #TourismIndustry

Hema Bose: How do you see India’s rapid growth in taking its craftsmanship to a global platform, and how has it influenced your partnerships? India’s rapid growth in bringing its craftsmanship to a global platform is nothing short of spectacular. Indian fashion is no longer viewed through a narrow lens of traditional attire or merely as a resource for embroidery and textiles. It’s incredibly exciting to witness our designers, like Gaurav Gupta and Rahul Mishra, gracing the Paris Haute Couture Week—a stage that was once reserved for the established titans of the fashion world. This isn’t just a win for our designers but for India as a whole. It’s proof that we’re more than just about heritage; we’re also about innovation and pushing boundaries. And let’s not forget, as Indian fashion continues to break into these prestigious arenas, it doesn’t just elevate our designers—it has a ripple effect. Initiatives like ARTISAGA, which bridges the gap between Indian artisans and global markets, exemplify how our craft is making waves in the global ecology of affluence. This growing visibility brings more eyes to our culture, boosts our creative industries, and contributes to the economy in ways that were previously unimaginable. With the World Bank predicting India to remain the fastest-growing major economy globally, it’s clear that our fashion and textile industry will play a significant role in this ascent. I remember when I first started working with Gaurav Gupta; it wasn’t long before we saw Megan Thee Stallion and then Cardi B in one of his designs. These were pivotal moments that proved we could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best in the business. What’s truly satisfying is knowing that we’re just getting started. As India continues to move exponentially in every direction, the future is wide open. If we keep playing our cards right, the impact of Indian fashion on the global stage will be nothing short of revolutionary. #WhyWeLoveIndia #craftsmanship

Raseel Gujral Ansal: Which aspect of Indian craftsmanship inspires your artistic work the most? Indian craftsmanship is the soul of my creative journey. It is where the whispers of tradition meet the echoes of modernity. The intricate handwork, the timeless techniques, and the devotion of our artisans are what fuel my designs. Recently, I embarked on a new artistic venture, creating sculptures that celebrate the essence of Indian womanhood through the lens of our ancient craft traditions. The ‘Three Faces of Eve’—Devi, Diva, and Damsel—are not just sculptures but a tribute to the multifaceted nature of femininity, crafted with the skilled hands of Indian artisans. The Devi represents the cosmic force, fierce yet nurturing; the Diva embodies worldly beauty and grace; and the Damsel, with her purity and innocence, symbolizes the journey towards divine protection. Each piece, forged from terracotta and adorned with gold, stands as a testament to the eternal dance between tradition and contemporary expression. These sculptures are my homage to the resilience and artistry of Indian craftsmanship, where every curve and hue is a story of heritage passed down through generations. #WhyWeLoveIndia #craftsmanship
