“A milestone moment for us at TBOF - we’ve raised 58.25 Cr in Series A Round led by Rainmatter by Zerodha We started as a farm-grown brand in 2012, and over the years, we’ve grown as a global brand... We were able to pass on the benefits directly to our fellow farmers by adding more margins for them in the next round of purchase. After a couple of months we started working with Paani Foundation and tied up with farmers across Maharashtra. For example - we started working with Renuka Mata Mahila Shetkari Ghat- an all-women farmer group to buy their urad produce. Due to their high product quality we paid them Rs 11,000 per quintal! A whopping hike of Rs 900 - way higher than the market price. In total, the farmers earned Rs 60,500 and they were able to grow the crops sustainably without using any harmful chemicals. This is just one story. We have worked with numerous farmers in 2023 to help them make a better living by giving what they deserve. The warriors who are silently shaping the future of the land. The hands that plow, the hearts that sow, and the souls that reap the harvest of the nation, they are the true visionaries and pride of our country. Farming is so much more than routine cultivation and harvesting. Farmers carry deep insights and knowledge about indigenous farming practices that have been passed on for centuries. 🌱 Everybody preaches that one should live in harmony with nature. But, do we even know what that means? A farmer shares a deep bond with the trees and he nourishes the soil with utmost love, dedication, and precision. It is not sowing seeds but tilling the land with dreams and abundance. Farmers breathe life into the soil and their hands like prayer beads sow seeds of sustenance, cultivating a divine connection that nourishes the body and the soul. To just call yourself Pure and Organic, we are subjected to so many audits - A Audit, then B Audit, then C Audit, a large part of our Farm team’s time is spent just preparing for these audits and maintaining logs of information, records, and whatnot. As we support our farmers who cannot do this, the farm team runs to their villages, too, when an audit is announced; the documentation is so difficult, and so cumbersome; how can a simple farmer keep so many records and data??? It gets frustrating sometimes, while the satisfaction is there when the certificates come, and the auditor gives everything green, which we have fortunately got till date, and so have our farmers, but sometimes it just feels like is this all worth it, our FRM teams should be spending a lot of their time in guiding and handholding the farmers, but these audits make them run helter-skelter. Is there a better way to show purity than certificates, why can’t customers trust family farmers with their names on it, protecting something such as a family name is more honorable than passing a certificate audit. I don't know there can be a better way to trust and a better way to build this, Fear is not the right way to go about this for sure, fear that someone will take away your certificate, etc. etc. In all this, the respect for our FRM teams grow by the day, they do so much work and physical work, that it's not possible unless you are so motivated. I salute this team of ours, they are true saviors of all farmers who do organic farming with us, they stand and take all the shots and make it an easy ride for the farmers, and make our customers trust us.
