AI is breaking down barriers to learning, faster than we ever imagined. When we launched Typsy in 2017, we started by knocking on doors within a few kilometers of our office, asking hotels and restaurants if what we were building could help them. Fast forward to today - Typsy lessons are being watched over a million times a month around the world. One of our biggest challenges along the way? Language. For years, we’ve worked to make learning more accessible by offering closed captions in 40 languages, something that remains an important option for many of our customers. But for learners who prefer to listen in their native language, AI-powered dubbing has enabled an entirely new way to engage with content. A few years ago, we tested human dubbing in one language. It took over 6 months of work and cost $100K+. It wasn’t scalable. AI now solves the complexities of language structure, specifically for where some languages require a different number of words to convey the same message, which can cause major misalignment with visuals. AI-powered dubbing has completely changed what’s possible. Over the past few months, we’ve been able to dub our entire library (thousands of video lessons) into 9 new languages in a fraction of the time and cost. The more we reduce language barriers, the more people we can empower through learning. And this is just the beginning. Exciting times ahead! 🌍 🎧 🎙️Dubbing now available in: Arabic, Mandarin, French, German, Spanish, Bahasa, Turkish, Vietnamese. 🔜 Thai coming by end of March.
