Extremely proud of our team at U M Khona and Co - for being the first organization to undertake the "Intra Warehouse Transfer of Ownership' on the Digital Module - at India's Largest Customs Station - Jawaharlal Nehru Customs House (JNCH). 'Transfer of Ownership' is a crucial aspect in our Business with majority of our Liquid Bulk Customers needing this as a mode of Clearance. The digital push from Government of India and Indian Customs, a very strong push - had us worried about the readiness of the system, the potential challenges and potential delays in clearances. Our team, lead by Tarvinder Kaur at our Head Office and Hemang Zatakia at JNCH worked in close coordination with the Bond Section at JN Customs and ensured we were able to successfully achieve the first digital transfer of ownership transaction at JNCH. And after the first, the ball was set rolling for many more. Sincere thanks to Principal Commissioner D S Garbyal sir, Additional Commissioner Vinay Kanthethi, Assistant Commissioner Manoj Hessa, Superintendent Prakul Chauhan and Snehal Patel for being supportive throughout the entire process. Receiving this at the hands of my Chief Commissioner was an absolute Honour. Shri Vimal Kumar Srivastav - Chief Commissioner JN Customs, handed this Certificate as part of the Republic Day Celebrations at JN Customs, in the august presence of seniors from Department and my senior colleagues. While i personally believe doing something first or being in a rat race is not an ideal way to function for anybody, but i take this certificate with a larger scope of our dedicated commitment to our customers and our partners towards ensuring we stay ready to provide support, be agile in our ability to find solutions, and ensure utmost professionalism and integrity in the way we function. 2025 began on a nice note for us at U M Khona and Co with our first ever in-house Cricket Tournament. 4 teams of 11 players each, with both our Head Office and Nhava Sheva Offices participating fully. We booked a turf adjacent to our office, handed over the responsibility of the planning and execution to few enthusiastic youngsters - and had a fun morning of competitive cricket, with some light hearted live commentary. Apart from the players, it was encouraging to see 30 odd members of our team who could not participate, (for a varied set of genuine reasons) spend time at the turf watching and cheering on the players. While our focus and commitment to our business, our industry and our customers remains steadfast and resolute, we hope 2025 marks a beginning wherein we have some good moments within our team and give our colleagues some opportunities for happiness, laughter and fun.
