About us

Vallum Capital Advisors Private Limited embarked on a journey on August 16, 2010. Founded by Mr. Manish Bhandari in the vibrant city of Mumbai, Vallum Capital Advisors reflects a visionary pursuit of tailored financial solutions. Vallum Capital Advisors is an independent SEBI-registered PMS specializing in Mid & Small Cap investments. Grounded in the GARP philosophy, our Vallum India Discovery Strategy is designed for effective wealth creation through a long-only approach in Mid & Small Cap companies, consistently outperforming the BSE 500 TRI. Currently, we manage AUM exceeding Rs 1350 crores (close to $ 200 Million). Our approach revolves around the Growth at a Reasonable Price (GARP) philosophy, strategically investing in middle & small cap companies. With a long-only strategy, we hold investments for 3-5 years, maintaining a low churn ratio to generate risk-adjusted returns. The portfolio focuses on wealth creation by identifying opportunities with strong leadership or unique business moats at reasonable valuations. Our primary goal is to outperform the benchmark (BSE S&P 500 TRI) over 3-5 years, net of fees.

Is the Chinese stock rally sustainable? We believe it is. Chinese SSEC markets are up 20% in one month. There is a lot of speculation about the sustainability of this rally. There's prevailing skepticism about China's economic strength, with many investors adhering to the mantra “Anything but China” due to fears of a balance sheet recession. However, the economic recovery indicators suggest significant rebounds in domestic tourism, passenger car sales, and movie revenue, which challenge the narrative of a recession. The Chinese trade surplus is exceeding US$80 billion per month, with total exports approaching US$281.7 billion, indicating buoyancy in economic activity. China's government has introduced measures to support the economy and stock markets, which have largely gone unnoticed. These policies have created a favorable investment climate, similar to past strategies in Japan. As China aims to assert itself in global financial markets, the Indian markets may face volatility during this transition. This suggests a potential shift in the investment landscape, with China poised for a more prominent role in global markets, driven by economic recovery indicators and government policy support, despite existing skepticism and challenges in the U.S. financial sector. The detailed note has more insights. Manish Bhandari #China #Investing #IndiaInvesting #GlobalInvesting #GlobalMacro

Interview with ET Money on India Investing by following GARP Philosophy Summary of Discussion 1. GARP (Growth at a Reasonable Price) helps in navigating across market cycles. Portfolio managers face challenges related to market cycles, stock selection, and sector selection. S&P GARP has delivered outperformance compared to S&P Growth and Value indices. 2. We do not differentiate between mid-cap, small-cap, and large-cap stocks. We view the market as efficient, with companies that have moats and are fairly priced. 3. We carefully analyze the earnings cycle of companies before making investment decisions, avoiding those with elevated earnings cycles as they tend to expand valuation multiples. 4. "Risk lies in the eyes of the beholder, and usually, investors associate risk with unfamiliarity with the subject." 5. Key sectors like Chemicals, select FMCG, and affordable Healthcare are currently offering a good risk-reward ratio. 🌟 Embracing the Journey: Why Work-Life "Balance" Might Not Be the Ultimate Goal 🌟  In the pursuit of success and fulfillment, we often hear about the importance of achieving work-life balance. Let's rethink our approach. Our Director, Neha Bhandari says instead of striving for a perfect equilibrium, it's valuable to focus on embracing the journey itself. "Life is dynamic and ever-changing. There are moments when work demands one's full attention, and other times when personal life takes precedence. And you know what? That's okay!" One should allow themselves the flexibility to adapt to life's curveballs. Learn to navigate the ebbs and flows with resilience and grace. She is reminded of this every day when she sees her women co-workers bringing positive energy and enjoying what they do. Here are some thoughts Neha Bhandari would like to share with all amazing and hardworking women who multitask all the time 💃   🌄 Lose balance to find balance: The key is to embrace the uncertainty of life, for it is often in letting go of control ✨ that we discover true balance. If work demands extra hours, compensate with quality time for yourself later. Remember, balance is a journey, not a destination.   🌈 Develop a balanced mindset: True balance begins within. When faced with challenges, ask yourself why they affect you. By understanding the root cause, you empower yourself. Remember, balance is a state of mind; it's not about adopting quick fixes but cultivating a mindset that keeps you centered.   On this Women's Day, let's encourage each other to find harmony in chaos, embracing the beauty of challenges and victories. Together we, Neha Mehta, Sheetal Narsanna and Tejal Solanki put in constant efforts to create a workplace where balance is not just a goal but a shared commitment to well-being.  #BalanceInLife #WomensDay #WorkLifeHarmony #inclusion #vallumcapitaladvisors #IWD2024#EmbraceTheJourney #PersonalGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment
