Successful Completion of the Roundtable on Capacity Building Commission's Viksit Panchayat Initiative Capacity Building Commission successfully completed a roundtable on the Viksit Panchayat Initiative, marking the official kickoff of this important effort to strengthen grassroots governance. The event, held on 16th October 2024, gathered key partners and experts dedicated to enhancing local governance through capacity building. The Viksit Panchayat Initiative aims to develop the competencies of Panchayat officials and elected representatives, empowering them to deliver citizen-centric governance and improve service delivery at the grassroots level. This initiative is aligned with the principles of #MissionKarmayogi, focused on strengthening the capacity of #civilservants to drive effective governance. Today’s roundtable brought together our partners -Piramal Foundation | IDinsight | Catalyst Management Services | Centre for Effective Governance of Indian States (CEGIS) | Seven Sisters Development Assistance (SeSTA) | CYSD | Dhwani Rural Information Systems | Project Tech4Dev | Veddis Foundation, along with subject matter Experts Elango Rangasamy and Ashokanand HS to discuss the project’s objectives, strategies, and next steps. Our discussions focused on decentralizing governance, increasing citizen participation, and ensuring equitable and sustainable development through the Panchayati Raj Institutions. The session also highlighted the importance of technology-driven solutions, including an e-learning platform, a capacity-building app, and an AI-powered chatbot, which will enhance the training and performance of #Panchayat officials. The commission is excited to move forward with the collaboration and efforts of all involved partners.
