The $100 million purchase of Bengaluru-based cloud security platform PingSafe by NYSE-listed SentinelOne is being hailed as the greatest acquisition in the history of Indian cyber security startups. The acquisition, which is half in cash and half in shares, is expected to settle in the first quarter of FY 2025, according to a Barclays client note. In 2021, Anand Prakash and Nishant Mittal founded PingSafe. By sending innocuous payloads to breach customers' infrastructure, it provides a consolidated dashboard with instantaneous proof of exploitability. The firm was able to acquire funding last year of $3.3 million from Peak XV Partners' accelerator program, Surge. The 30-year-old Anand comes from Bain village in Rajasthan's Churu area, and his family is farmers. In his family, he is the first engineer to graduate. Prior to traveling to Kota for his IIT-JEE tuition, he was without a computer. He told TOI, "I used to go to a nearby cyber cafe and I would pay Rs 10 an hour to browse the internet." While Prakash was at Kota in 2008–09 getting ready for his IIT-JEE, one of his friends challenged him to hack his Orkut account. Prakash, lacking any prior computer experience, discovered a ten-step guide on hacking an Orkut account on Google. His hack caused a trigger to enter his credentials and duplicated his friend's Orkut webpage. Prakash wanted to know what went through a hacker's head. He subsequently went on to VIT Vellore to get his engineering degree. He was employed by Flipkart as a security engineer after serving as an intern with the Haryana police. Prakash became an expert in cyber security to the point where he began identifying and reporting problems for GitHub, Twitter, Google, Uber, Nokia, Soundcloud, Dropbox, PayPal, and other platforms. In a LinkedIn article, he said, "I still remember the first bug that I found on Facebook that earned me $500 in 2013." Prakash has helped more than 400 businesses build "secure-by-design" IT solutions since 2012. This reflects his foresight as the transition from on-premise to cloud computing arose. Prakash's substantial contribution to user data protection won him a spot in Forbes 30U30 Asia list. #Startup #sold #newbeginnings #itsecurity

Microsoft and LimeChat have partnered to build a chatbot driven by artificial intelligence. What you should know is as follows - With this, the business aims to triple its revenue over the next 12 months, with annual recurring revenue (ARR) predicted to reach $2 million by the end of this quarter. - The AI chatbot firm LimeChat hopes to make money in the first half of this year as well. - The relationship with Microsoft, which will see the tech giant assist LimeChat in selling its chatbot to its enterprise customers—a market the firm will be entering for the first time—is the source of co-founder Nikhil Gupta's confidence. - According to Gupta, "what's making the difference" in terms of putting the firm on the path to profitability is the unit economics of collaborating with larger businesses. LimeChat's two main expenses are salary and cloud computing, which the business says it has managed thanks to its collaboration with the tech giant. As part of the partnership, LimeChat created a new platform that leverages Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. The platform promises to provide better chatbot responses than any of its rivals or its previous iteration. #ecommerce #marketing #makeithappen #newbeginnings

Born in Kamalia, Punjab (now in Pakistan) on July 1, 1923, Brijmohan Lall Munjal set out on a revolutionary adventure that would drastically alter the Indian auto industry. Munjal and his family moved to Amritsar and then settled in Ludhiana, where they started a bicycle spare parts company in 1944, despite the difficulties caused by the division. The family overcome obstacles to enter the bicycle component manufacturing business in the early 1950s. The turning point came in 1956 when Munjal's company, Hero Cycles, was granted an industrial license by the Punjab government to produce bicycles. This was a pivotal moment that helped Hero Cycles Ltd grow into the biggest bicycle manufacturer in India. With the help of Munjal's forward-thinking ideas, Hero Cycles and American Honda Motor Company, Inc. Co. Ltd. were able to develop the ground-breaking joint venture known as Hero Honda in 1984. Through this partnership, Hero's manufacturing skills were combined with Honda's technical know-how to produce the first Hero Honda motorcycle, the CD100, in 1985. Hero Honda expanded remarkably under Munjal's direction, going on to become a household name in India and hold the title of largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world by volume in 2001. After splitting from Honda in 2011, Hero MotoCorp became a separate corporation, which gave it the opportunity to expand into new markets and broaden its product line. Hero MotoCorp, backed by the confidence of over 110 million customers and the enormous credibility of a worldwide brand, is riding into the future to meet the traditional and electric personal mobility needs of a brave new world. Brijmohan Lall Munjal received the Forbes India Leadership Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2014 and the Padma Bhushan from the Government of India in 2005 and 2014, respectively, in recognition of his exceptional efforts. On November 1, 2015, he departed from this life, leaving a significant legacy in the automobile sector. Hero MotoCorp is reported to have a Mcap of Rs 82,714 Cr. #liveupdates #startups #newstoday

Little Llama is a Chandigarh-based startup company that makes eco-friendly fabric toys. It was founded in 2022. Dr. Shweta Gupta, an MBBS graduate who practiced medicine at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram as a diabetologist from 2012 until her marriage in 2018, launched Little Llama. Prior to getting married, Dr. Shweta looked for unusual dolls for her niece, which is how her adventure into the world of eco-friendly toys started. She looked into European markets because she was dissatisfied with the generic plastic and synthetic dolls that were available in the Indian market, but the imported options were too costly. Unfazed, she made the decision to use biodegradable supplies like wool and linen cloth to make a unique, handmade doll. In 2022, Dr. Shweta was encouraged by her spouse to launch her brand, Little Llama, after receiving great feedback on her innovation. She directly creates eco-friendly fabric toys for kids ages 0 to 12 these days, putting sustainability and health first. She uses colorful wool for the toys' many components instead of plastic and chemical paints, making them safe for kids who like to put things in their mouths. Even though Dr. Shweta finds the intricate handcrafting process challenging—comparing it jokingly to earning her medical degree—she has succeeded in creating a business that has attracted the interest of celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan, and Neha Dhupia. On Instagram, Little Llama has gained the support and admiration of Nakuul Mehta, Gauhar Khan, and Aparshakti Khurana. The Better India claims that Little Llama has completed at least 300 orders since its founding in 2022 and has brought in Rs 15 lakhs from the sale of handcrafted dolls, "Jungle Animals," birthday buntings, and other fabric toys—all of which are made with great care, attention to detail, and a dedication to eco-friendly materials. #makeithappen #ecofriendly #startup
