#Rathyatra, also known as the Festival of Chariots, has roots that dig deep into #India's cultural and spiritual fabric. The festival primarily celebrates Lord #Jagannath's journey from his temple in Puri, #Odisha, to his garden palace in the countryside. Legend has it that this ritual symbolizes the annual journey of Lord #Krishna, his brother Balabhadra, and his sister Subhadra, marking their travel from Vrindavan to Mathura. Even to this day, children in #Bengal grow up with Tagore's stories and plays and poems and find guidance, solace and inspiration in his art at every stage of their lives. Heartaches, fantasy, joy, fun, frolic, fear, anger, love, loss, bereavement, despair - if you have felt it, Tagore will have a song or a story or a painting that reflects it. A humanist to the core, Tagore's famous friendships included the likes of Albert Einstein, Hellen Keller, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Victoria Ocampo - pretty much every notable human of the time in almost every field - making him perhaps one of the most popular figures of the Bengal #Renaissance.
