World Rabies Day 2024: Let's Eliminate Rabies Together! Today, on World Rabies Day, we stand united with a global goal: Zero Rabies Deaths by 2030. Rabies is a 100% vaccine-preventable disease, and together, we can achieve this by following a few key steps: Vaccinate Yourself & Your Pets: Anti-Rabies Vaccines (ARVs) save lives! Ensure your pets are vaccinated and encourage others to do the same. If you take the pre-exposure shots you will build immunity against rabies for life. Talk to your Doctor today to get the anti-rabies pre-exposure shots. Understand Dog Behavior: Prevent dog bites by learning to read dog body language and following these simple tips: 1)Give dogs their space. 2)Avoid disturbing them while eating, sleeping, or when they are sick or injured. 3)Don’t approach unfamiliar dogs, especially in unfamiliar settings. 4)Be calm and gentle when around dogs. 5)Do not go near a mother dog and her pups as she will always try to protect them. 6)Responsible Stray Dog Care: Support sterilisation to control the stray dog population and anti-rabies vaccination drives for stray dogs in your area, ensuring their safety and yours.
