About us
We, at WWF, believe that humans can live in harmony with nature. In India, we’re studying snow leopards in the Himalayas, tracking tigers in the Terai and Kanha Pench corridor, working with businesses to develop green modules and with communities to find ways to reduce their dependence on forests, among many other projects. There’s a lot more that we do – and we need people with heart to help us do it. Follow us for the latest adventures and openings at WWF-India

The football culture of Goa fits so well into what we are trying to do with plastic waste in the state. Goa with a population of 14.5 million people is known to have the highest per capita consumption of single use plastic in the country. This is estimated to be 22 kgs per person per year in Goa as against an average of 15 kgs in India. Our Project SAIM in association with WWF-India is now operating in south #Goa. The project is looking to enhance the existing system in Goa by providing opportunities for post consumer dry waste to be aggregated in our Material Recovery Facility. However, if we have to score a win for the environment, we still need to choose to #reduce before we #recycle. #Monsoon season has arrived in many Indian states and extreme flooding events are in the news. Urban areas are at risk, as water has nowhere to go due to the abundance of impermeable surfaces. With increasingly changing weather patterns, it is imperative that urban planning prioritise rainfall management and ensure adequate drainage systems to mitigate these risks. Over 80% of the world’s population lives in areas where the night sky is brightened by excessive artificial lighting. "Sky glow", caused by human activity, disrupts nature's rhythm and leaves wildlife confused. Whether you live in a city or the countryside, you can fight light pollution by limiting your use of outdoor lighting, using blinds or curtains to contain indoor light, and employing high-efficiency light sources.
