Last week, we concluded the #BharatInclusionBootcamp: An immersive, 4-day journey for founders BuildingforBharat. These founders are all solving with radically innovative solutions, for significantly underserved spaces in the financial services and livelihoods spaces for the #Bharat customers. When we brought this diverse set of founders together, we had one question in mind - what can we teach founders who are already so well versed in their respective markets, customers and solutions that they do not already know?  With our deep ecosystem work in supporting tech startups working on the themes of #BharatInclusion, this challenge was the most exciting part of designing and delivering this bootcamp for us. Through the 4 days, we gave founders access to foundational knowledge, like  - Getting the right ingredients of product-market fit: This included understanding their “Bharat” customer, building product around their behaviours, last mile resources for scale, and operational profitability.  - Priming their internal systems to support scale: This required focusing on team building, AI-led automation, and regulatory compliance & governance integration.  - Engaging with investors and financial institutions: To explore and secure tangible partnerships that would propel them to the next stage of growth.  - Giving substance to their narratives: By delving into the fundamentals of narratives and pitching and getting in-depth feedback. The goal was to help the cohort build a better and more thoroughly validated plan of action for the period after the bootcamp, when they take what they have learned here and apply it to their businesses to achieve non-normal growth. It will be tough to articulate in a few words the absolute treasure of key lessons and insights both the founders, as well as the IIMA Ventures team took away from these 4 days. We extend our gratitude to the mentors, experts, and founders who generously shared their insights, experiences, and strategies, helping shape the cohort's journey throughout the bootcamp. The past few days have been incredibly insightful for me as a founder. Taking a step back to reflect on the business, identifying gaps, and building frameworks for the next stage of growth has been invaluable. After 12+ years of dedicated service at Bank of Baroda, I'm embarking on a new chapter in my professional career. It's been an incredible journey filled with growth, learning, wonderful colleagues and seniors. I'm grateful for the opportunities and experiences I gained from this bank, starting from rural areas of Andhra Pradesh (Rural Banking) to the Heart of Financial Capital of India- BKC, Mumbai (Digital Banking). This has made me complete banker in true sense. At the fag end of my tenure at Bob, I had the opportunity and privilege to work in CBDC (Digital Rupee) Project. This project has immensely helped me to grow both professionally and personally.  One of the proudest moments was definitely rolling out the First Ever Merchant Use Case in India "Merchant Loyalty/Cashback Programme" built on the "Programmability" functionality of CBDC, under the guidance of RBI. This use case was launched in collaboration with Xaults Technologies Pvt Ltd. Neeraj Singh Shubham Sharma Jinu Thankachan Jain Jacob It empowers small and medium merchants—local shops, groceries, pharmacies, restaurants to independently design and launch their own “loyalty/cashback programs” via the "bob Merchant App" without needing costly infrastructure! Key highlights: •  CBDC Merchants can configure their own cashback campaigns from the bob Merchant app. •  Any customer transacting through CBDC at their outlet will receive cashback in the form of Programmable CBDC (PCBDC). •  PCBDC is redeemable at the specific merchant before the expiry. Dumb money, i.e., non programmable money, in its present form has been around for a century. Bitcoin showed that money could be intelligent. While central bankers did not accept Bitcoin, they realized that intelligent money was indeed worthwhile. That led to the race to introduce CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currency). For the longest time, nothing came out of that. But it is with great excitement that I learned that Xaults has helped Bank of Baroda launch a use case for programmable money in India. Money will never be the same again. Only reaffirms my opinion that Xaults is indeed India's best CBDC startup. Congratulations Neeraj Singh and Shubham Sharma. Your blood, sweat, and toil has borne fruit. But there are hundreds of miles remaining on this journey that you have begun with the first step.
