A staggering 84% of active influencers in India do not currently work with any agency. They are vastly underrepresented due to concentration of agencies in a few metros and lack of ways of being discovered by brands directly. #influencermarketing #creatoreconomy

Will Instagram’s latest update help budding content creators? On 30th April 2024, Instagram on their company blog introduced pivotal changes in its algorithm. The company revealed its biggest issue with content aggregators. Content aggregators often download other users’ photos and videos and repost them. Very few of these accounts credit the original account; many just rip off the content without acknowledgment. Instagram has serious issues with this practice. Many of these content aggregators receive more traction with the content than the account on which it was originally published. It’s a loss to the small, budding creators who put their sweat into creating content – only to see their traction stolen by aggregator accounts. So, Instagram will now remove reposted content from recommendations across the platform. Meaning, that you won’t see any reposted content on your Instagram Explore feed. That’s not it. Instagram will now promote smaller accounts in its recommendation section so that their content can reach newer audiences. Instagram said it would actively replace reposted Reels with the original clips in its recommendations to reward original creators. This means that when identical content is detected, the algorithm will recommend only the original version, with proper credits to the creator. As someone building a creator-centric community, it melts my heart to see Instagram giving new creators the love and support they deserve. I have seen firsthand how painstakingly difficult it is to create content. I am sure this move by Instagram will encourage more creators to give content creation a shot. Are you as happy as I am with Instagram’s latest updates?

I was earlier of the view - which many hold even today - that #marketing is not that important if the product is good. But I was wrong. When there are a million products fighting for attention, even if you have the best product - the second best product will win everyday if their team is more connected with their customers. Marketing is not so much about selling as connecting with the customer. This means: 👉 reaching out to them 👉 learning about them 👉 conveying value you are delivering 👉 building trust Even Elon Musk who used to say no to marketing has started spending on ads now in face of competition and the reason he could do so earlier was that he himself was being marketed big time (without explicitly spending money on it)
