In each month in between 1st to 10th many of us invest our time in Management Review Meetings (MRMs) which often focus on performance metrics, strategic goals, and operational efficiencies. While these are undeniably important, there's another MRM that is least focused : Mindfulness and Resilience Meetings. This MRM to be dedicated to checking in on mental health, creating a safe space for employees to share their thoughts and feelings, fostering resilience by discussing strategies to cope with stress, and promoting well-being through practices like mindfulness, regular breaks, and work-life balance. By integrating these MRMs into our routine, we can ensure that our teams are not only productive but also mentally and emotionally thriving. But what if I told you it's also about tackling current issues creatively with brilliant simplicity? 😊 We’ve all been there – staring down a complex problem and assuming the solution will be equally dominant. Well, in reality, sometimes the answer is delightfully simple! Just the other day, a customer flagged a missing hole issue ⚠️ . Our team brainstormed 🤔 utilized various problem-solving tools and came up with high-tech solutions like expensive vision camera systems 📷 . Then, a brilliant & creative idea 💡 emerged: 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗻! By placing a pin on the fixture, the missing hole would prevent the part from sitting properly, halting the entire process before a defect could occur. This perfectly exemplifies ZDM. It's about creativity, not just throwing money 💸 at problems. By focusing on prevention and being open to all ideas, we can achieve zero defects with surprisingly elegant & creative solutions. Here are some key takeaways: ✅ 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲: While the missing hole 🕳️ was the immediate problem, another issue was the process continuing despite the defect. The pin addressed that. ⛳ ✅ 𝗗𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲: Sometimes, the simplest solutions are the most elegant. A complex vision system might seem impressive, but a well-placed pin gets the job done efficiently. ✅ 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘅: The team member who suggested the pin likely wasn't the most invested in high-tech solutions. Encouraging diverse perspectives can lead to these "aha!" moments. This story is a great reminder that even the biggest problems can have surprisingly straightforward answers. As per recent ET reports , New pure electric vehicles (EV) or plug-in hybrids accounted for half of the total vehicle sales in China. It's a major milestone considering EVs and hybrids had a share of only 7% of total vehicle sales three years ago. The Chinese government is offering cash subsidies up to USD 2,785 for new EV purchases indicating strong resolve of the government for even higher adoption of EVs. The Indian government may have to continue the incentives and subsidies for many years to come for faster adoption of EVs and Hybrids. It is also interesting to note commentary from Maruti on their slow EV play with their belief in alternate fuel technologies like CNG , Bio-mass and Ethanol. We are going to witness a unique transition of fuel utilisation from pure petrol and diesel to the widest possible range of options as compared to other global markets.

Tata Sierra EV launch confirmed for FY2026 https://ift.tt/V17KFeo Tata Motors is set to launch the much anticipated Sierra EV in India in FY2026, along with the first model from its Avinya range, the brand revealed in its investor day presentation. Sierra EV likely to be based on Tata’s Gen2 EV platform Avinya will be a premium EV brand Tata Sierra EV launch The Sierra EV was first shown in concept form at Auto Expo 2020, and Tata had revealed that it was based on the Altroz’s ALFA platform. It measured 4,150mm in length, 1,820mm in width, 1,675mm in height and has a 2,450mm-long wheelbase. A second concept was then shown at Auto Expo 2023, which looked closer to being production-ready and featured a proper 5-door body instead of the unique four-door arrangement of the 2020 concept. Tata has now confirmed that the Sierra EV will launch before March 2026. It is expected to use the brand’s Acti.EV architecture, like the Punch EV and upcoming Harrier EV, and is likely to be based on Tata’s Gen2 EV platform. In terms of design, the Sierra EV will have some instantly recognisable cues from the original Sierra from the 90s. The signature curved-over rear-side windows, the squarish wheel arches and the high-set bonnet seen on the concept are all reminiscent of the original Sierra, and are expected to make it to production. Tata Avinya EV launch Tata also confirmed that the first of the Avinya EVs will be launched in FY2026, before the financial year ends. Vivek Srivatsa, chief commercial officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, recently confirmed to us that the Tata Avinya is not going to be a single vehicle, but will instead be a premium all-electric brand that’ll spawn an entire family of cars and SUVs. The Avinya range of cars will be based on JLR’s modular EMA platform that will be localised to keep costs down. As for the first Avinya model, not much is known in terms of body style or specifications, and it's also unclear if Tata and Avinya will operate as independent brands. What we do know is that the Avinya range will be built at Tata’s upcoming new plant in Tamil Nadu, for which the company recently committed an investment of Rs 9,000 crore. The plant is likely to come up at Ranipet and sources say that Tata could use it to produce Jaguar Land Rover EVs as well. Indian Government demands more local content in electric vehicle manufacturing. In its recent discussions with stakeholders, the ministry suggested reducing the number of components under PMP in FAME-III from 18 to 12. The MHI is discussing a phased manufacturing programme (PMP) with stakeholders, requiring stricter localisation for electric vehicle (EV) makers to qualify for the proposed Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles (FAME-III) subsidy scheme. In its recent discussions with stakeholders, the ministry suggested reducing the number of components under PMP in FAME-III from 18 to 12. Components such as power and control wiring harnesses, connectors, miniature circuit breakers, electric safety devices, lighting, and body panels, which have been eliminated from the list, will now have to be domestically manufactured. Moreover, the ministry reiterated that all other parts, components, and sub-assemblies of EVs must be domestically manufactured and assembled. It has asked automobile (auto) companies to provide feedback on the proposed changes. For instance, in electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and electric rickshaws, only the cell and associated thermal and battery management systems can be imported. Battery modules or complete battery packs in completely knocked down form will not be permitted. All other parts required to assemble the battery pack must be domestically procured or manufactured. For onboard chargers, only the semiconductor device and electronics can be imported. All other components, including the assembly of the finished product (such as PCB manufacturing and soldering of electronics), must be done domestically. In the case of vehicle control units and direct current (DC)-to-DC converters, only semiconductor devices and electronic components can be imported. All other parts, including PCB manufacturing, must be sourced domestically. For the traction motor — another key EV component — only permanent magnets, Hall Effect sensor kits, and the encoder can be imported, while all other components must be domestically procured. The ministry has defined activities that qualify as indigenous sources eligible for PMP and FAME-III. These include local sourcing of raw materials and child parts, local assembly of finished products, and partial import combined with partial local sourcing of raw materials and child parts, followed by local assembly of finished products. However, EV makers are planning to raise a key concern. Mandate domestic manufacturing for all components, including those eliminated from PMP list a. Prohibit import of battery packs and modules in CKD; allow import of battery cells; b. Limit imports for vehicle control units and onboard chargers to semiconductor devices and electronics only; c. Include four components under PMP for four-wheelers and e-buses: d. electric compressor for HVAC and brakes, AC charging inlet, and DC charging inlet.
