They mix household with business instead of keeping it separate. Generally, they are not able to distinguish between their household expenses and business. Running a business on its own is quite a challenge for women in India. Equity capital or loans from banks have issues around pricing, valuation, right information etc. SEBI has been working from the point of view of investors' protection. However, many good MSMEs are not able to raise money from the market. Moreover, how the money raised is used is also a concern for SEBI. If India's demographic dividend has to remain a dividend and not become a disaster, it is the MSMEs which would be providing jobs. While govt is doing its bit, MSMEs are not even aware of schemes available by the government and banks. It is a big challenge to translate the scheme on the ground and make them effective.
