🪴 At the end of September, during the Open Day organized in partnership with FAI - Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano at Crédit Agricole Italia's Parma headquarters, 3Bee hosted an engaging #workshop to show how #technology can be a useful tool to protect biodiversity. 🌸 We introduced participants to our Biodiversa app, which helps users recognize different plant species and understand their role in #biodiversity. By demonstrating how technology can deepen our connection with nature, participants learned how pollinators play a crucial role in plant reproduction, all while listening to the fascinating sounds of insects. After exploring the app, the #children had the opportunity to make seed bombs to take home and plant in their gardens, helping #pollinators thrive and supporting local biodiversity in an easy and effective way. 🌱 Since May 2024, Crédit Agricole Italia has taken a significant step to promote #biodiversity and environmental awareness by partnering with 3Bee for a complete #monitoring project at its headquarters in Parma. This site is a space dedicated to raising awareness about biodiversity. What does this project involve? - Comprehensive monitoring with 3Bee’s Element-E at all levels, ensuring a detailed biodiversity #assessment - Biodiversity Oasis with 2 monitoring beehives surrounded by a hedge of 4 different nectar-rich shrubs - Nectar-rich pathways, featuring alternating rows of 11 shrubs and 7 herbaceous plants along a walkway, enriching the environment for pollinators 💡Crédit Agricole Italia has integrated informative biodiversity signage along these paths, combined with our butterfly, ladybug, and Polly House shelters to create a thriving #ecosystem. We’ve also installed a bespoke Bug Hotel, designed with several hexagonal habitats, each offering 7 different types of refuge for insects. To further monitor environmental #health, the site is equipped with 2 Spectrum sensors, which will support ongoing efforts to track pollinator populations and maintain ecological balance within the park. 🌱 #Genova è biodiversa? Abbiamo condotto una nuova analisi della #biodiversità dell'area presa in esame con particolare attenzione a due indicatori fondamentali: l'abbondanza media delle specie (Mean Species Abundance, MSA) e il potenziale nettarifero (PN). 💡I risultati mostrano che l'#MSA è alto, il che indica un’area totalmente naturale o quasi incontaminata dalla mano dell’uomo, in cui non solo la copertura vegetale è elevata, ma di questa molte #specie sono utili agli impollinatori in quanto producono fiori e nettare, essenziali per il loro nutrimento. Il potenziale nettarifero risulta medio-alto, suggerendo un ambiente naturale con presenza limitata di elementi antropici, come colture agricole intensive o insediamenti urbani. La #mappatura del potenziale nettarifero ci consente di individuare le aree prioritarie per interventi di miglioramento, attraverso l'introduzione di specie nettarifere e la gestione degli #habitat degli impollinatori. 🌱 In collaboration with Edison Next, 3Bee has developed a Biodiversity Oasis in Zinasco (PV), a pioneering project combining advanced #technology and #biodiversity regeneration. The Oasis is equipped with two biomonitoring hives using 3Bee Hive-Tech technology, which allows real-time monitoring of bees, vital bio-indicators of environmental health, by measuring key biometric parameters. 💡Zinasco Oasis also has seven shelters for wild #pollinators such as solitary bees, ladybirds, butterflies and bats. In addition, 50 nectar-producing plants and shrubs of five different native species have been planted to restore and enhance the local #ecosystem. An educational pathway has been created within the oasis to open its doors to schools and local communities, raising awareness of biodiversity and creating a deeper connection with the surrounding environment. Located next to facilities that convert biomass into sustainable energy, the Biodiversity Oasis is a living example of how #businesses can integrate biodiversity and sustainability.
