BRAVO!! This should be an industry standard! 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗡𝗼 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗜𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗯𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗜𝘀 𝗢𝗻 Singapore Airlines has changed its service procedures and will no longer offer service to passengers if the seatbelt sign is on, as it moves to a "more cautious approach" to service. "In addition to the suspension of hot beverage service when the seatbelt sign is on, the meal service will also be suspended," said SIA. The new change comes after an extreme turbulence incident occurred during the breakfast service of Singapore Airlines flight SQ321 from London to Singapore, resulting in the death of one passenger and injuring more than 80 others. Among those hospitalized for their injuries were at least six Singapore Airlines crew members who were busy in the cabin as they finished their final service. The new move is seen as an added measure to protect cabin crew and passengers, as they, too, will now need to be seated when the seatbelt sign is on. #singaporeairlines #airsafety #singapore #aviation #aviationdaily #emirates #qatar Source: CNA Photo: Singapore Airlines

One of Europe's Largest Flight Attendant Organisations Stands with Emirates Crew Against Inhumane Working Conditions During Historic Storm The EUROPEAN CABIN CREW ASSOCIATION (EurECCA), representing over 70% of organized cabin crew in Europe, has expressed solidarity with Dubai-based Emirates cabin crew, condemning the airline's disregard for health and safety during recent historic storms. In a statement, EurECCA declared: "EurECCA STANDS ALONGSIDE EMIRATES CABIN CREWS FORCED TO TAKE DUTY DURING THE WEATHER EMERGENCY. The numerous images and messages requesting support that our fellow flight attendants at the Emirates airline spread all over European social media only confirm the well-known disregard for the most basic principles of health and safety at work. The legal impossibility of joining forces to assert one’s rights has brought out, during the exceptional meteorological events which have affected the Emirate area, all the limits of a “work system” where people count for nothing and, regardless, 'the show must go on'. It is the commitment of EurECCA – which represents over 35 thousand flight attendants across Europe – to raise attention to the continuing lack of rights and protections in some air carriers in the Gulf: these shortcomings emerge, dramatically, precisely in exceptional situations. The difference in terms of rights is also an economic saving (without wanting to mention the moral implications): at a time when global competition is increasingly challenging, the adequate level of protection guaranteed to one’s employees must also be of importance." In the UAE, it's illegal for employees to advocate for better conditions, prompting global support for Emirates staff. This solidarity underscores the interconnectedness of the airline industry and the importance of upholding international aviation standards. One small step for women, one giant leap for cabin crew! 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗼 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗧𝗼 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 Yesterday morning, BELAVIA - Belarusian Airlines flight attendant Marina Vasilevskaya returned from a trip of a lifetime. She completed a mission to the International Space Station, becoming not only the first woman from Belarus in space but also the first flight attendant. According to Belavia, Vasilevskaya, aged 33, has spent the past seven years working as cabin crew and an instructor for the airline. She earned her spot to fly to space through a nationwide competition organized by the Belarus Academy of Sciences and the Belarus Space Agency. From a vast pool of over 3,000 female applicants, she emerged as one of six finalists. Ultimately, she was selected over another flight attendant, two scientists, and two doctors. The trip, which began on March 23, returned to Earth yesterday morning, 47km southeast of the Kazakh city of Jezkazgan. #belavia #belarus #marinavasilevskaya #cabincrew #flightattendant

Aegean Airlines Desperately Searching For A Blind Kitten It Lost Transporting From Crete to Munich A blind kitten named Rodri has gone missing while traveling in cargo on Aegean Airlines from Chania to Munich via Athens. After the cat's container arrived damaged without Rodri inside, the owner, Mary Gomes, alerted the airline. However, according to social media posts, Aegean failed to take quick action. From an account bearing her name, the post claims that Aegean failed to provide any information for 72 hours about the cat's whereabouts. Since Rodri's disappearance has now gone viral on Greek social media pages, the airline has had to make a public statement via its social media pages addressing the situation, stating that it has taken swift action ever since becoming aware of the missing pet. The statement reads: "Dear Aegean Community, We are addressing the recent incident involving Rodri, the kitten that went missing during the AEGEAN flight from Chania to Munich via Athens. We are deeply concerned about its disappearance and are actively working with airport authorities and our team to do everything possible to locate Rodri. From the moment we realized that Rodri was missing, we swiftly launched extensive efforts, coordinating with airport authorities, and deploying our dedicated airport personnel in search of the kitten. Despite our exhaustive attempts, we haven't yet located Rodri, but we are fully committed to persisting in our search efforts. The safety and well-being of all animals traveling with us are of utmost importance, and we are thoroughly investigating how Rodri's carrier was damaged to prevent such incidents in the future. We also want to clarify that a €100 compensation offer circulating on social media, falsely attributed to AEGEAN, is from a fake account and has no connection to our organization. We urge our community to rely on information shared through our official channels. We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue our efforts to resolve this matter. Our thoughts are with Rodri and its guardian during this difficult time. AEGEAN" Recently, numerous reports from passengers claiming they lost their luggage while transiting through Athens with Aegean have been received by readers of AFGCCL. Most share the same complaint that the airline's ground handling agents do not respond to inquiries about lost bags and appear to have a negligent attitude. One reader claimed to have waited weeks without a response from Aegean agents in Athens and eventually traveled back to the airport, where he found his bag after being informed that it had not yet arrived by the airline. #aegean #aegeanairlines #staralliance #catlover #Rodri #LOSTCAT #catsofinstagram
