#FOSDEM is a must-attend event for Open Source enthusiasts and a few weeks ago, it once again brought together thousands of passionate developers from around the world. We’re proud that our colleague Pietro Peterlongo was among the speakers! 🎤✨ His talk, "Nim for Pythonistas (and #OpenSource developers)," introduced the #Python community to the powerful and expressive Nim language. The key takeaway? Exploring a “niche” technology like Nim is not just a way to grow as a #developer, it’s also an opportunity to understand Open Source governance better and contribute meaningfully to the wider community. Tomorrow and for the rest of the week me and Letizia Moro will be in Pavia at AIROYoung workshop, a conference that aims to showcase the work of young research from Operations Research and strengthen the connections between Academia and Industry. I am more and more convinced that traditional Data Scientists could benefit a lot from more exposure from OR techniques and that are a lot of low hanging fruits in the Industry to add value combing predictive and optimization thinking. Also happy to report that Letizia Moro will be speaking on Thursday afternoon and that as Agile Lab we were able to support the event officially (and that the two things are unrelated 😅). Thanks to Stefano Gualandi for introducing me to this event and to Davide Duma and the rest of organizers for involving us.
