The story of our colleague Giovanni A. and how living with Cerebral Palsy turned out to be an opportunity for him. Graduated in philosophy, with job experience as a history and philosophy teacher, for years he had grown a passion for technology, which "was a support in the search for autonomy, and I believe it can bring useful results to the entire community, not just to the individual." What an exciting experience to be involved in the four days conference "Respect Respond Reimagine” in Australia, the12th Biennial Conference organised by the Australasian Academy of CP and Developmental Medicine, last week. AINCP has been involved in multiple sessions to discuss the innovations brought by our multidisciplinary approach. From co-design to MRI, from sensor validation to rehabilitation, in these pictures you can have a glimpse of the many topics the AINCP team has discussed. Promising research results on soft and flexible sensors were presented by our team from #BioRoboticsInstitute of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna at the 46th International Conference of IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) - UnB in Orlando, Florida. Soft and flexible sensors can be easily attached to various objects, in a cost effective model, and are important in telerehabilitation: they allow clinicians to better monitor the child's movement while interacting with objects during manipulation exercises, making therapy more personalized and adaptive.
