🚨 🚨 🚨 EXPERT SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨 🚨 🚨 It is with immeasurable (see what I did there) pleasure that I get back into the groove of announcing the next of our #expert speakers for the 2025 Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon Public Safety and Forensics Conference, Samuel Abbott from Amped Software Without a doubt, the frequency and importance of video evidence within criminal and civil investigations, continues to rise at an astounding rate. Only a couple of decades ago it was not uncommon for video evidence to be taken at "face value" and interpreted in what we now know to be "ill advised" methods. One company that definitely gets a lot of credit for the improved surety and confidence in the current standards of video evidence is Amped Software, founded by Martino Jerian in 2008. Sam Abbott is one of Amped's experts/trainers. In Sam's own words: I started my career studying Forensic Science before joining the Royal Military Police within the British Army in 2014. I served for 6 years specialising within a Forensics Team that was tasked to operate within numerous forensic fields, across the globe, for all 3 services of the British Forces. Whilst training as a CSI, Laser Scan Operator, Multimedia Evidence and Digital Forensics expert, I took a particular interest in Video & Imagery Forensics. It was from this interest that led me to Amped Software, who hired me as a Video Forensic Analyst and Software Trainer on completion of my military career. I have spent the last 4 years training both Military and Police Forces worldwide in Video Forensics and have been heavily involved in the development and testing of the software. I now have over a decade of experience within my related field and have developed a passion for passing that knowledge onto others, to help assist forces worldwide with the challenges they face from multimedia evidence. Without a doubt, the presentations last year in relation to 2D imagery evidence, both stills and video, was amongst the most talked about - probably the greatest number "oh my, I did that" confessions came during those presentations. To that end, I am absolutely sure that Sam's presentation will be both enlightening, and thought provoking. Sam joins an already impressive speaker line up, with yet more to announce!!
