The European Commission is proposing several steps to modernize the EU’s current VAT system within the initiative of VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA). One of the primary goals of the initiative is to implement a new tax reporting system, including the obligation to issue electronic invoices. Date: September 26 Time: 10:30 am CEST Platform: Zoom Registration required: https://lnkd.in/dtK-VtCd Even though the ViDA initiative is delayed due to missing political agreement, single EU Member States continue to implement or evaluate the implementation of e-invoicing systems for B2B transactions but also for B2C transactions. Approximately 49,000 companies in Europe, 12.4% of which are in Italy, will be impacted by the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive that the Italian Council of Ministers has transposed into domestic law, extending the obligation for small and medium enterprises to report on their environmental, social, and governance impacts. The CSRD introduces a double materiality approach, requiring companies to disclose information on risks and opportunities related to sustainability issues. This marks a shift towards “Corporate Sustainability Reporting” rather than traditional “Non-Financial Statements”. Starting in 2025, companies exceeding certain size limits will be required to prepare sustainability information. This includes those with: - 250 or more employees - Turnover exceeding 50 million euros - Balance sheet assets exceeding 25 million euros The legislative decree will come into force soon after its publication in the Official Gazette, driving greater transparency and accountability in corporate reporting. Francesco Marconi, Francesco Inturri, Francesca Capoferri, Edoardo Fea, Maurizio Ferrero, Paolo Trevisanato, Alessandro Moretti, Valeria Soliano, Giulia Lumina, Valeria Cassano
