We are working with Federation University Australia on a project looking at how to make delivering and playing community sport more affordable as part of the #PlayWell Strategy. #Coaching | Thirty coaching leaders gathered at the Australian Institute Of Sport in Canberra as part of the Women in High Performance Coaching Project. Designed to build awareness of the strategies all sports can use to empower women in coaching. For Technical Lead for Victoria and Tasmania with Swimming Australia, Tracey Menzies-Stegbauer, the three-day course embodied a commitment to women coaches across the sector, in line with the High Performance 2032+ Sport Strategy. "One of the highlights was the shared commitment of making this space a better space for all within sport" "Often in sport we think that we're the lone soldiers that are doing it all on our own, but this week has been a really nice way to see that we are all transitioning in the same direction." Matthew Wilkie, National HP Coach Development Manager at Rugby Australia, the program will help further accelerate the development of women rugby coaches. With summer fast approaching, we have unveiled our ‘Your Sporting Summer’ campaign, encouraging Australians to get active and embrace the warmer months through sport. Featuring a standout lineup of Australian sporting icons, including Swimming Australia Olympic swimming champion Emma McKeon, Skate Australia Olympic skateboarder Haylie Powell, and Paralympics Australia Paralympian Michael Roeger the campaign seeks to inspire Australians of all ages and abilities to get involved in sport. We are working with researchers from Federation University Australia on a project looking at how to make community sport more affordable for all. This project is a priority activity in Horizon One of #PlayWell – Australia’s codesigned National Sport Participation Strategy which aims to transform sport participation to Brisbane 2032 and beyond.
