Hospitality thrives on human interaction. So, can AI truly impact this sector? Reinhard Lanner and Erich Eichstetter explored this question during the second BEAM Lab at our #BEAMSummit. They believe #AI is set to transform the hospitality industry by automating routine tasks, streamlining processes, and freeing up time for more critical work. The examples they highlighted: • Personalized menus for guests with food intolerances 🍽 • Inventory management through cameras and voice recognition 📷 • Chatbots equipped with manuals to train new employees 📋 Reinhard Lanner challenges the traditional view: “We always talk about humans versus machines. We separate them, but we should combine and think together! If we ask Master Chef Ben Schneider, then “Yes!” At NOI Techpark in Bolzano, the Gastro A6 concept is taking shape, where robotics and culinary innovation are merged. The project aims to set new standards. “Gastro A6 will be a living lab, an innovation hub, and a platform for showcasing research. It’s where research, businesses, and the community come together to enjoy food. Here, research comes to life on the plate.” Food Innovation Specialist Lisa Althuber emphasizes: “We must bridge the gap between science and practice. Hospitality thrives on human connection.
