"BEAM is a community - and so much more - a space for visionaries and doers for think and act". BEAM is the Hospitality Gamechanger Summit by Fiera Bolzano - Messe Bozen , illuminating new hospitality themes and future directions globally. Together with the BEAM team, we created the booklet of the ‘24 edition: “Empowering Teams and Thrilling Guests”. The booklet collects the major ideas and key thoughts of the speakers, as well as collecting the best moments of the event. The edition gathered +200 participants and 12 impulse sessions. For Rebecca, cooking is more than just food—it's her own way of protesting. Through Alpine cuisine, she uses food as art to promote connection, care, mindfulness, and authenticity. 🍽️🎶 By engaging all the senses, she creates an immersive experience that invites guests to connect with themselves and the food in a meaningful way. The Michelbergers, in contrast, didn’t set out to create a hotel. Their Michelberger Hotel, Restaurant & Farm emerged naturally from the community, reflecting their belief that true hospitality grows from the people it serves. Their farm further strengthens this bond, preserving ancient agricultural knowledge—connecting guests, staff, and nature. 🌱 Rebecca and the Michelbergers show us that hospitality is about more than accommodation. It’s about creating spaces where people can truly belong, connect, and share experiences. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞? 🤔🌍 In one of our BEAM Lab’s, Signe Jungersted 喜娜 Jungersted, CEO of GROUP NAO, shared her thoughts on how destinations can create deeper connections between locals and visitors. Too many places are guilty of “local washing,” marketing themselves as authentic without integrating real local culture. While 75% of travelers want authentic experiences, 45% struggle to find them. 🤷♂️ Instead of “tourism like a local,” we should focus on “tourism with locals.” This means: • Building community relationships • Promoting co-ownership of the destination • Focusing on long-term sustainability A great example was Nicola Accurso’s mission at 21 House of Stories. As the CEO, he opened the hotel’s doors to the city, to see what unfolds. With about 100 co-workers daily, something is always going on, making the hotel a place of encounter. What do you think?
