Greetings from a truly special place, where even the birds have given our cell towers their seal of approval as prime nesting spots! It’s not every day that a tower hosts such VIP guests. At Calzavara SpA we’re always thinking about how technology and nature can coexist harmoniously. Our towers not only conceal the antennas of MNOs that keep the world connected but also, it seems, provide a safe haven for our feathered friends. This motivates us to continue developing solutions for our clients that allow them to meet connectivity needs while also promoting sustainability. Our commitment to sustainability is both tangible and formally certified in our annual sustainability report (https://lnkd.in/dMsCCcvg). We demonstrate this commitment through actions like the use of eco-friendly materials, managing our products' full life cycle, and focusing on designs that integrate harmoniously with the surrounding environment. Solutions like our #HAT Harmonized Artificial Trees (https://lnkd.in/dQH7uuz) are specifically designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape, minimizing visual impact and preserving the natural beauty of their surroundings, especially in natural areas. These photos are the greatest reward we could ask for in recognition of our commitment. #Calzavara #SmartSolutionsBeyondInfrastructure #CellTowers #Sustainability

According to the latest report from the 5G European Observatory, the European Union currently hosts approximately 356,000 operational 5G base stations. This number is set to rise rapidly as the network expands, with estimates suggesting it will reach 500,000 stations by 2030. The passive infrastructure supporting these base stations (5G antennas and radio equipment) varies depending on several factors, primarily customer preferences, as well as local conditions, urban density, and regulatory requirements. Key types of passive telecommunications infrastructure include polygonal poles, self-supporting towers, and, in some cases, constant-section monopoles. In France, constant-section monopoles are particularly common, especially in urban environments. These steel structures, with a uniform diameter along their entire height and a cylindrical top cover that conceals 5G panel antennas, offer several notable advantages: high resistance to bending and torsion, even in strong winds; a small footprint, making them ideal for urban settings; and a low visual impact, which helps them blend more discreetly into the surroundings. Although these monopoles have a lower load-bearing capacity compared to other structural options, they remain a strategic choice for urban areas, where it is crucial to balance efficiency with a low environmental impact. As 5G continues to expand, the adoption of these structures will be key in facilitating the integration of cellular connectivity technologies into cities, creating a more widespread and sustainable network with less visual and territorial impact. #Calzavara #SmartSolutionsBeyondInfrastructure #5G #Monotube

Greetings from the Czech Republic, where the rollout of 5G is progressing rapidly, thanks to significant investments from operators such as O2, T-Mobile, and Vodafone. Currently, 5G coverage in the Czech Republic reaches over 88% of the population and 59% of the territory. O2, in collaboration with CETIN, is leading a major modernization of the mobile network, with the goal of covering nearly the entire country by the end of the year. Investments have been primarily focused on the most populous urban areas, such as Prague, Brno, and Ostrava, but significant efforts have also been made in more remote regions, particularly in Bohemia and Moravia, where new base stations are being installed. In the photo, you can see a “Austrian pine” cell tower (https://lnkd.in/ddp5VS6D) located on the outskirts of Kyšice, Bohemia. Our “Austrian pine” is an exceptional solution, allowing our clients to install 5G antennas for two mobile operators, seamlessly integrating them into the landscape with no visual impact. It can accommodate up to six panel antennas and four 60 cm dish antennas, while offering maximum flexibility for management and maintenance: an internal ladder provides easy access to the upper platform, where operators can safely perform maintenance on the equipment and antennas.   Our commitment is clear: to provide with concrete solutions that enable the rapid expansion of 5G infrastructure, ensuring that both urban and rural areas can fully benefit from the opportunities offered by the 5G network, without impacting the landscape. #Calzavara #HAT #SmartSolutionsBeyondInfrastructure #5G

Greetings from Trieste, where the #Barcolana56, the world’s largest sailing regatta, has just concluded. Each year, this event transforms the city into a hub of sport, tourism, and culture, and the 2024 edition was no exception. Thousands of sailing boats graced the waters of the Gulf of Trieste, drawing enthusiasts, spectators, and tourists from around the globe. The Barcolana is not merely a sailing competition; it is a true celebration of the sea, blending sport, local folklore, and an unparalleled influx of visitors. In such a lively and crowded environment, technology plays a fundamental role, often unnoticed by participants. Today, using a mobile phone to capture photos, share them on social media, or stay in touch with friends has become a daily routine. However, behind this apparent simplicity lies a complex technological infrastructure that must handle vast amounts of data traffic, especially during large-scale events. To ensure efficient coverage in such contexts, #COW (Cell On Wheels), such as #CMast (https://lnkd.in/dA4ymS5u), come into play. These temporary structures reinforce the existing cellular network. These transportable cell towers, which can be towed by vehicles with a towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg, can be operational in less than 2 hours, without the need for cranes or civil works. Thanks to their ability to host 5G panel antennas at a height of 17 meters, these stations are able to handle spikes in usage, providing all participants with a stable and fast connection. Their presence is crucial during large-scale events: with tens of thousands of people gathered in a relatively small area, traditional networks would risk becoming overloaded, leading to communication disruptions. In fact, it is not only about enhancing the user experience but also ensuring overall safety: mobile networks enable seamless communication between organizers, law enforcement, and emergency services, ensuring the safe and coordinated management of large crowds. In an era where digital sharing is an integral part of everyday life, we are very proud to contribute by providing these types of structures, which help ensure a reliable connection, essential for the success of such important events. #Calzavara #SmartSolutionsBeyondInfrastructure #CellOnWheels

Greetings from the Luna Park in Argelès-sur-Mer, a charming seaside resort located approximately 20 km from Perpignan and just a short distance from the Spanish border. We were tasked with providing two lightweight cell towers (https://lnkd.in/dKGnXUWn) that seamlessly blend with the local landscape, allowing MNOs to enhance connectivity in an area that, thanks to attractions like the amusement park, a go-kart track, bowling alleys, an adventure park, and the Canyoning Park, draws numerous tourists. These installations also align with the objectives of the "Gigabit Society" and the "5G Action Plan" of the European Union, which aim to ensure full 5G coverage across the continent by 2030. These plans promote the expansion of advanced network infrastructures to support digital transformation and improve connectivity, particularly in densely populated or high-tourist areas. By the end of 2023, approximately 356,000 5G cell towers had been installed across the EU, with an increase of 50,000 new sites compared to the previous year. The countries that recorded the most significant progress in infrastructure deployment were Germany, France, and Spain, where public and private investments have played a key role in accelerating network densification. In France, particular attention has been given to expanding coverage in rural areas, supported by substantial government funding. Similarly, in Italy, the increase in cell towers has been remarkable, driven primarily by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). With a budget of over 2 billion euros, the plan aims to bridge the digital divide in underserved areas and rural zones, where connectivity infrastructure has historically been lacking. As a company specializing in the design and construction of telecommunication structures, we are proud to contribute to the expansion of 5G networks. Our expertise in delivering environmentally conscious solutions positions us as a trusted partner in the ongoing digital transformation.

Sunny greetings from Sainte-Anne, in the stunning Martinique! Here, amidst stretches of white sand, the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Caribbean, and the gentle sway of coconut palms, we’ve brought a touch of our Italian design and our cell tower technology. We have installed a custom-designed lancepole (https://lnkd.in/dfszKCus) that truly makes an impression. This 21-meter-high pole, equipped with a ladder for easy maintenance, is topped by an eye-catching 3-meter-high cylinder with an impressive diameter of 3.3 meters, designed to discreetly conceal the MNO operator’s 4G/5G antennas. At the base of the cylinder, a practical platform provides ample space, allowing personnel to comfortably work on antenna installations and maintenance after easily accessing the structure via the ladder. This cell tower is not only appealing for its aesthetic and its ability to conceal the antennas, but also for its exceptional functionalities that enable efficient management. When aesthetics and functionality are perfectly combined, the result is an ideal balance of form and purpose—the ultimate solution.

Greetings from Dolomieu, a picturesque mountain town overlooking the Rhône and Bourbre valleys, offering stunning views of the Chartreuse massif. A town surrounded by forests and pines, where the integration of 4G/5G connectivity infrastructure could only be achieved through the selection of a pine tree-mimicking structure. The client opted for our Austrian pine structure (https://lnkd.in/ddp5VS6D) to minimize the visual impact of the cell tower. Standing 30 meters tall, the structure boasts impressively realistic bark, branches, and foliage, blending effortlessly into the landscape. But what makes this solution truly remarkable is its versatility: it supports up to two MNOs with six panel antennas and four 60 cm dish antennas; it also includes an internal ladder for easy access to the top and a platform designed for efficient maintenance operations. By merging advanced technology with natural aesthetics, this solution not only ensures reliable connectivity but also preserves the unspoiled beauty of Dolomieu’s landscape—proof that progress and nature can coexist harmoniously. #Calzavara #SmartSolutionsBeyondInfrastructure #HAT #CellTowers

Greetings from La Crau, a French commune located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, a land dedicated to viticulture with an annual wine production of over 48,000 hectoliters. La Crau is situated near Hyères-les-Palmiers, an area famous not only for its numerous vineyards but also for its 10,000 palm trees, which adorn its avenues, public gardens, and city parks. This is why, for this installation in the middle of the vineyards, a 24-meter palm tree with internal ladder (https://lnkd.in/dS6EBGmn) was selected. There are many details that make it look realistic: from the bark to the artificial yellow dates. The 4G and 5G panel antennas were also painted green for perfect camouflage. The installation of telecommunication structures must always be carefully planned, selecting the most appropriate plant to blend seamlessly with the natural environment. The key to successfully installing telecommunications towers in rural areas is to minimize the visual impact on the landscape, striving to balance the technological needs of connectivity with environmental respect, especially in areas rich in aesthetic and natural value. #Calzavara #SmartSolutionsBeyondInfrastructure #HAT #CellTower
