✨ The Painted Hall Undercroft – A Masterpiece of Restoration and Craftsmanship ✨ The Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich is often called the "UK’s Sistine Chapel"—a breathtaking 18th-century Baroque masterpiece spanning 40,000 square feet, painted by Sir James Thornhill (1707-1726). For this RIBA London Award 2019-winning project, we at Capoferri collaborated with Hugh Broughton Architects to craft three elegant bronze partitions, seamlessly integrating them into the historic Undercroft. The challenge was to create exceptionally slender profiles, inspired by early 20th-century metal windows, while respecting the architectural constraints of the space. 🔹 Why Bronze? 🔹 At Capoferri, we don’t just use bronze—we celebrate it. The uniqueness of our real bronze, free from zinc, lies in both its structural integrity and decorative beauty. This artisanal process not only elevates the aesthetic but also allows for easy restoration in case of wear. Ever wondered how to breathe new life into historic spaces without losing their unique charm? 🏛️ On April 5th, in the majestic Salone dei Cinquecento at Palazzo Vecchio, the seminar "Re-build in the Built Environment" explored a critical challenge: how to renovate, or re-build existing structures and historic spaces, to improve outdated infrastructure, to adapt spaces to new uses, to make buildings more energy-efficient and ensure they meet current safety standards, while preserving their architectural legacy. 🤝 Organized in partnership with thePLAN the event highlighted the recent renovation of the grand hall, where fire safety standards were updated without compromising the historical integrity. The Partnership of Capoferri & Trombe is going well. Introducing the private residence in Canada, Bohlin Cywnisky Jackson designed a project for which Capoferri made heat-cut stainless steel custom facades and locks, suitable for performing in a mountain location with high thermal hiking. The project features high-quality stainless steel claddings on unique ocular structures – light wells that provide views into the garden. These oculars exemplify both aesthetic elegance and functional precision. The residence boasts satin wall doors and stainless steel ventilation grills that seamlessly match the custom locks, creating a cohesive and sophisticated interior design. A fully customised main entrance stands as a testament to Capoferri's commitment to bespoke solutions and high executive quality. Here's to a future of success together.
