Glad to Have Hosted the EU Commission at Our Repowered Wind Farm.   This week, we had the honor of welcoming the EU Commission’s Energy Department press visit at our repowered Mineo-Militello-Vizzini wind farm. Selected as a best-practice example of the energy transition in Sicily, our site served as the perfect setting to showcase the impact of repowering.   A group of 14 international journalists, mainly coming from the countries where we operate, visited the wind farm to gain insight into the role of repowering in both the energy transition and our growth strategy. And this role is pivotal—wind energy is set to become Europe’s largest power resource by 2030, and simply doubling repowering rates could provide one-third of the capacity needed to reach this target.   As a pioneer in wind repowering in Italy, ERG has been leading the way since 2018, launching its repowering plan ahead of the curve. To date, we have successfully completed and commissioned the overhaul of four wind farms in Sicily, reinforcing our commitment to a cleaner energy future. The green energy generated by these repowered wind farms is largely secured through long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with major global industrial corporations—an essential strategy for ensuring revenue stability in an increasingly volatile energy market.   Repowering isn’t just about replacing turbines. Oggi AGICI ha insignito Paolo Merli CEO di ERG, del Premio “Manager Utilities – Andrea Gilardoni”, attribuito ai manager del settore Utilities e Infrastrutture che si sono distinti per il contributo dato allo sviluppo del sistema. Il riconoscimento è stato assegnato “per l’accelerazione impressa nella crescita di ERG a livello internazionale e per la leadership nel rinnovamento tecnologico dei parchi eolici in Italia”.   L’internazionalizzazione è stata una scelta strategica che ha trasformato ERG, permettendoci di consolidare il nostro ruolo come operatore indipendente di energia rinnovabile. Negli ultimi anni abbiamo ampliato la nostra presenza geografica, investendo in mercati ad alto potenziale e rafforzando il nostro posizionamento in Europa e negli Stati Uniti. Oggi, operare su scala internazionale significa non solo diversificare, ma anche contribuire alla transizione energetica in più contesti.   Il repowering rappresenta una leva fondamentale per rendere il sistema energetico più efficiente e sostenibile. Non si tratta solo di sostituire le turbine esistenti, ma di modernizzare gli impianti, raddoppiando la capacità installata e quasi triplicando la produzione di energia rinnovabile, senza occupare nuovo suolo. Questo approccio ci consente di massimizzare il contributo delle rinnovabili alla sicurezza energetica e alla riduzione delle emissioni, garantendo energia pulita, accessibile e affidabile.   Questo premio è un riconoscimento al lavoro di tutte le persone di ERG, che con passione e competenza portano avanti ogni giorno questa sfida. A recent report by LCP Delta, based on DESNZ scenarios, found that only regions in the north of Scotland would benefit from a wholesale energy price decrease under a zonal pricing model. Whilst England and Wales would be most affected, even regions in central Scotland would see wholesale price increases.   In fact, the report states ‘higher price areas account for 97% of demand across the country meaning nearly all consumers will be paying increased wholesale prices for their energy’.   Is that fair? 

Uncertainty is blocking the energy transition in Northern Ireland.   Northern Ireland has enormous renewable energy potential, yet grid constraints and regulatory uncertainty are holding back investments. The challenge isn’t just red tape - it’s the lack of a clear framework to manage grid congestion and provide certainty to investors.   Unlike most other markets, Northern Ireland does not compensate generators for constraints, and the timeline for securing firm access keeps slipping as critical grid upgrades face repeated delays. This uncertainty has slowed investment, leaving only a handful of players willing to take the risk since 2019.   The demand for renewables has never been higher, yet projects are stuck waiting for the infrastructure and policies needed to deliver clean energy at scale. Every delay means missed opportunities: for local jobs, energy security, cheaper bills and climate progress.   Northern Ireland needs a framework that matches its potential. ERG Board of Directors approves the Consolidated Financial Integrated statements at 31.12.2024 and approved the report on corporate governance and ownership at 31.12.2024. The “Value over Volume” strategy is confirmed for 2025-2026. A dividend of EUR 1 per share has been proposed. Main results: Year 2024 • Adjusted consolidated EBITDA: EUR 535 million, EUR 534 million in 2023 • Adjusted Group net profit: EUR 175 million, EUR 226 million in 2023 Fourth quarter 2024 • Adjusted consolidated EBITDA: EUR 145 million, EUR 159 million in the fourth quarter of 2023 • Adjusted Group net profit: EUR 45 million, EUR 77 million in the fourth quarter of 2023 Paolo Merli, Chief Executive Officer of ERG, commented: “The results of 2024 and, in particular, of the last quarter, were affected by wind levels that were considerably lower than last year and the historical averages for the period. This phenomenon, at the operating margin level, was fully offset by the contribution of the new installed capacity, which increased by approximately 580 MW, with over 300 MW in the United States. During the year, we also closed significant PPA agreements with leading industrial counterparts to stabilise our revenues. Our investment grade rating has been confirmed, we successfully issued a new green bond and signed our first financing agreement with the EIB. In updating the 2024-2026 plan, we have strengthened the selective “Value over Volume” approach, which was introduced last year, by reducing investments for the next two years and focusing on assets currently under construction, organic development and Repowering. Despite less investments, we continue to expect an EBITDA of over EUR 600 million in 2026. Last week, ERG attended KEY - Italian Exhibition Group, the leading fair dedicated to the energy transition in Italy and Europe. In these three days, we immersed ourselves in the heart of the energy transition, exploring crucial topics such as renewable development, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)—key elements for a sustainable and resilient energy future.    During the fair, we actively participated in sector discussions, collaborating with key players, businesses, and institutions. We were present at various events and panels, sharing our expertise as a pure renewable operator.    Our booth at the fair saw over 3000 visitors. Overall, the trade fair hosted 1,000 exhibitors, with more than 30% coming from international markets. It also welcomed 350 hosted buyers and delegations from over 50 countries.    In ERG, we believe that inspiring change is about embracing collaboration, fostering innovation, and empowering individuals to contribute to a sustainable energy landscape. In celebration of International Women’s Day, we held a special gathering with all ERGpeople, designed in collaboration with GLORIA, focusing on the theme "How to be a good ally for gender equity?"    The talk proved to be both enlightening and inspiring for everyone involved, highlighting the importance of individual and collective action in the pursuit of gender equity. We were pleased to welcome Léonie Broquedis-Gouix, an expert in gender identity and the prevention of gender-based violence in the workplace, who guided us in discussing how we could all be allies in promoting gender equity.     At ERG, we stand at the forefront of these vital initiatives, committed to fostering an inclusive and safe work environment for all. Our Gender Equality Policy inspired the guidelines that shaped processes and practices aimed at enhancing and protecting diversity and equal opportunities. ERG actively promotes women representation in the workforce and ensures equal access to development and professional growth opportunities for women within our organization.    Since 2021, through our ESG plan and its subsequent revisions, we established progressive objectives to translate our commitment into actionable steps. We were also proud to announce that we achieved UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality Certification for our operations in Italy. La riforma del titolo V della Costituzione rappresenta un passo importante verso una gestione condivisa dell'energia, ma è essenziale superare le criticità tra Stato e Regioni per garantire uno sviluppo ordinato del settore.      Luca Bragoli, Chief Regulatory & Public Affairs Officer, Vicepresidente ANEV, ha moderato nella giornata di ieri “Potestà dell'autonomia differenziata e il rapporto tra Stato e Regioni nel settore energetico in Italia” convegno realizzato nell’ambito di KEY - Italian Exhibition Group da ANEV, Associazione Nazionale Energia del Vento e dedicato all'analisi delle problematiche legate alla gestione concorrente dell'energia tra Stato e Regioni, un tema cruciale per il futuro del nostro Paese.      Durante l’incontro, si è discusso dell'importanza di stabilire criteri generali a livello statale e di normazione di dettaglio a livello regionale. Tuttavia, le attuali criticità nei rapporti tra Stato centrale e Regioni creano conflitti che ostacolano lo sviluppo efficace del settore energetico. Durante l’evento, sono state esplorate possibili soluzioni per rendere la competenza dell'energia più funzionale al raggiungimento degli obiettivi nazionali. Se da un lato persistono criticità nei rapporti tra Stato centrale e Regioni che possono creare conflitti e rallentamenti, dall’altro emergono esempi virtuosi di amministrazioni regionali che stanno dimostrando un forte impegno nel guidare la transizione energetica con visione e concretezza. La Sicilia, la Campania e la Puglia, in particolare, stanno attuando best practice per accelerare lo sviluppo delle rinnovabili, favorendo un dialogo costruttivo tra istituzioni, imprese e territori. “I Power Purchase Agreements sono tra gli strumenti più potenti per accelerare la transizione energetica, offrendo alle aziende un'energia pulita, stabile e con costi certi, essenziali per il futuro del settore”    Oggi, Fioravante Clematide, Head of Sales di ERG, ha preso parte a "Rinnovabili e consumatori: la scelta ottimale", evento organizzato nell'ambito di KEY - Italian Exhibition Group, la fiera di riferimento per la transizione energetica in Italia. Al centro del dibattito, il ruolo fondamentale dei PPA nel garantire una fornitura energetica sostenibile e stabile, elemento chiave per le imprese che vogliono abbracciare la transizione verso un modello energetico più verde.    Per ERG, i PPA rappresentano un pilastro fondamentale del nostro business. Ad oggi, abbiamo circa 3,3 TWh annui contrattualizzati con partner internazionali, così da avere quasi il 40% della nostra produzione coperta da contratti a lungo termine.
