A new identity... ... for a little house. A typical rowhouse from the 1960s in the middle of a densely populated residential area in Munich was completely remodelled. Aesthetically, the slim, grey frames give the façade a suitably modern touch, while inside they have been adapted to the respective colour concept of the room. The house was modernised not only visually, but also in terms of energy efficiency. The new windows are much better sealed – not least thanks to the welded corners and rain deflector seals on the lower frames. 3 apartment blocks in Milan. 4 months. 800 windows replaced. All benefiting from the tax break known as the “Superbonus 110”. “For this project, we had to overcome two challenges: first, replacing the windows had to be quick, uncomplicated and smooth as it was simply not possible to move the residents out of their apartments. Second, the new windows had to meet the requirements for the Superbonus 110 tax break and improve the energy efficiency of the buildings”, explains Finstral project manager Ivano Talmon. “We solved the first problem with one of our innovative installation methods”, explains Florian Oberrauch from the Finstral management team. “The wooden frames of the old windows were not integrated into the masonry and could therefore be completely removed. We then simply mounted and screwed the new surrounding frames onto the existing metal frames, then fitted the sash.” This special installation meant that the whole procedure was carried out with minimal noise and dirt, and was completed at a rate of just over one hour per window. “Finstral could replace the windows in one room while the residents were enjoying a coffee next door”, grins Talmon. He continues: “So we replaced the windows in all three blocks in just under four months.
