The #RaisinaDialogue is always a crucial moment—an opportunity to step outside the magic bubble and engage with global challenges. Attending as a Western woman is both humbling and essential, a reminder that transforming food systems requires collaboration beyond borders. A Bridge Between Continents: Development, Adaptation, and #FoodSecurity: I had the honor of speaking on a panel exploring how #Africa and #Asia can drive food security through infrastructure, trade, and innovation hubs. Unlocking their potential means investing in agro-digital corridors, climate adaptation finance, and governance frameworks that foster resilience. After the initial remarks from Jaideep Mazumdar – Secretary East, Ministry of External Affairs, India 🇮🇳 we have been debating with Sarah Anyang Agbor – Vice President, Forum For African Women Educationalists - Kenya Chapter 🇰🇪 Chevaan Daniel Executive Group Director, Capital Maharaja Group 🇱🇰 Rob Hewett – Chairman, Silver Fern Farms 🇳🇿 Chitkala Kalidas – Senior VP & Global Head of ESG, Bayer 🇺🇸 and Sunaina Kumar Observer Research Foundation 🇮🇳 The future of food security in Africa and Asia is intrinsically linked to how we innovate, collaborate, and govern food systems. At the Future Food Institute we see food as a lever for global transformation, using education, research, and regenerative ecosystems to drive real impact. But also the report released by the Commission on Global Food Security at the Kofi Annan Foundation has reinforced the urgent need for governance innovation—not just in policies, but in how we cultivate knowledge, finance climate adaptation, and create cross-continental trade and technology bridges. A Call to Action: Redefining #Food as a Global #PublicGood We advocate for a new global governance framework—one that treats food security as a human right, a climate solution, and an economic driver. We must move beyond emergency responses to build systemic resilience because food security is not just about feeding people—it’s about regenerating the planet, empowering communities, and unlocking the economic potential of entire continents. Let’s reimagine food not as a commodity but as the currency of peace, sustainability, and shared prosperity. More reflections and thoughts will follow the post-RAISINA dialogue…, which always intense and positively challenging... The SEEDS Project is bringing back ancient grains to strengthen the resilience of cereal supply chains in the Mediterranean, focusing on Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, and Jordan. By reintroducing these traditional crops, SEEDS promotes biodiversity, reduces dependence on a narrow selection of grains, and enhances adaptability to climate challenges and pests. At Future Food Institute, we are proud to contribute by structuring and growing the project’s Living Labs, creating spaces for collaboration and innovation. 🎥 Watch the video to discover how SEEDS is shaping the future of agriculture in the Mediterranean! https://lnkd.in/dCfVWQ9Z Alessandro Fusco Vishwa Patel Sara Roversi

To all the incredible fellows #ExecutiveMaster in #FoodInnovation and #Regeneration who embraced this journey with courage and commitment, stepping boldly out of your comfort zones —I want to express my deepest gratitude. Your willingness to explore, learn, and transform is genuinely inspiring! Our journey through Regione Campania ad Pollica, Cilento - The Lands of #MediterraneanDiet was a profound lesson in the power of tradition, innovation, and regeneration. A big thank you to all who welcomed us with open arms: from the authenticity of Pasta Rummo to the GRAND MASTER Franco Pepe, who reminded us that simplicity can be revolutionary. Thank you to #VitoBusillo and the team behind the #IGPArugula, a European leader and excellence showcasing how the #PianadelSele blooms with opportunities. At Tenuta Vannulo, we witnessed how tradition and innovation can coexist harmoniously, while Santomiele sweetened our path with the taste of beauty and authenticity. Our journey led us to Silvia Chirico at Tenuta Chirico Love for one's land, relentless pursuit of quality and creativity, and then landing at #LaPretrosa - by our great master Edmondo Soffritti with Luigia, Simona, where we touched and tasted the profound essence of regeneration—a living example of how roots can anchor us while driving us forward. And what a privilege it was to learn from #GiuseppeCilento, a wise leader whose cooperative model at Coop. Agricola Nuovo Cilento, with deep roots and a vision for the future, is a beacon of what lies ahead. We concluded our journey by the sea with Vittorio and Donatella #AliciDiMenaica, discovering the ancient art of the #Menaica tradition—an ode to the past that guides us toward the future. A special and heartfelt thank you goes to Ludovica Leone, who co-directs this Master with me. Your support and dedication have been fundamental to shaping this journey. And to Matteo Vignoli, with whom I created the very first Food Innovation Program and co-founded the Future Food Institute—thank you for your unwavering belief in and support for this ambitious mission. Your vision and commitment to transforming the future (of food) are a constant source of inspiration. A special thank you to Bologna Business School - Università di Bologna for daring to open the dialogue in Italy not just about Food Innovation but about Regenerative Models—for believing in the power of transformation that goes beyond sustainability to truly restore and regenerate. To all of you who are part of this journey—THANK YOU! Keep daring, keep exploring, and keep regenerating. Your passion is the energy that drives change. Missed our latest Food AI Co-Lab conversation on Exploring Future Scenarios of an AI-Powered Food System?

Visualizza il profilo di Mike Lee

THE FUTURE OF FOOD & AI: Webinar Recording Last week I had the pleasure of presenting 3 future scenarios for 2035 on Food, Agriculture and AI at the #FoodAICoLab. Here are the 3 scenarios I shared, including one that's a preview of a chapter from the next edition of Mise, coming this spring: THE VILLAGE: An AI app called "Rafiki" revolutionizing subsistence farming in Tanzania by blending indigenous wisdom with cutting-edge tech. JANE'S FARM: A failing Midwest farm saved by open-source AI managing soil microbiomes and precision regenerative practices. THE PERFECT SANDWICH: A sneak peek from my upcoming Mise #2 book that gets dark about what happens when AI creates the most addictive fast food ever. The future of food isn't a spectator sport. We're all shaping it through the choices we make today and I hope these scenarios bend your imagination about what's possible in our future food system. Huge thanks to Sara Roversi and Michael Wolf for hosting such a thought-provoking conversation and having me on. #FutureOfFood #FoodInnovation #AI #Futurism

Do you know what #FBDGs are? 🍎 Food-based dietary guidelines (FBDGs) are customized to address each country's unique nutritional needs, aiming to prevent chronic diseases and promote healthier eating habits. More than 100 countries now adopt these guidelines, which emphasize both #humanhealth and #environmentalsustainability. They provide a roadmap for governments, health professionals, and individuals to make informed decisions on dietary patterns, integrating lifestyle factors to foster long-term wellness and sustainability in food systems. 📝 According to one of the research publications produced by #SwitchDiet, the 2018 Italian dietary guidelines embrace the Mediterranean Diet, focusing on sustainability and health. They encourage a plant-based approach, using seasonal, locally sourced foods, reducing red meat, and choosing alternatives like poultry and Mediterranean fish. With a nod to tradition, they emphasize using extra virgin olive oil and reducing food waste. A perfect blend of #heritage, #health, and #sustainability.
