Today is International Day of the Girl Child, a day dedicated to recognizing the specific challenges that girls face around the world. The 2024 theme is ‘Girls’ vision for the future’. We want to take this opportunity to thank all our female colleagues – who were once young girls themselves – for their contributions and ongoing efforts in breaking down barriers in education, especially in STEM fields. And for their effort in shaping the future of flight and for their actions towards a world in which all girls are empowered. #todaymatters

Hi, I’m Marianna and currently I’m the Avio Aero Material Leader for Rotating Components! I’m proud to be a Mechanical Engineer and to have been determined to achieve it despite facing different opinions and points of view. After an internship at Bosch, I had my first job opportunity at GE Oil & Gas \(Nuovo Pignone\) in Bari where I worked as a buyer and contract administrator for the main suppliers of machining, special treatment, shafts, pumps, and valves. This was a challenging experience that laid the foundation for my background. My journey with Avio Aero began in 2015. My first role was in the Sourcing team as a Lead Strategic Readiness Sourcing Specialist, where I focused on Avio Aero’s KPIs. This role gave me the chance to understand the business processes and collaborate with several teams across all Avio Aero plants. After two years, I had the opportunity to deepen my experience in the Materials team, first as a Master Scheduler and then as Customer Fulfillment for Leap and CFMI programs. This was key to understanding customer needs and essential for my professional growth. I consider myself lucky as new opportunities for increased responsibility in my professional life arrived in parallel with great joy in my personal life: after my maternity leave for my twins, I started my role as Sr Customer Fulfillment for GE commercial engines. It was a real eye-opener. I met incredible people, collaborated with several teams, and gained valuable expertise. I love tackling higher levels of complexity, so I tried to raise the bar and took on my current position where I lead a team! I’ve already given you a clue about my personal life 🙂 . At home, I manage another team: we are five people. I spend my personal time taking care of my four children— Clelia, Ginevra, Virginia, and the newest addition, Edoardo. It’s no small feat! Whenever possible, I love to travel with my family to explore new places. ##weareavioaero #portrait

#Tornado #RB199 #50anniversary
