The ICG Life Sciences team co-led a $100m financing of F2G, with the purpose of developing and commercialising olorofim, a new anti-fungal agent being developed to treat life-threatening invasive fungal infections. F2G, based in Manchester, UK, is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on high unmet medical needs. Olorofim is the first-in-class molecule in an entirely novel class of antifungal agents and is the only antifungal medication to be awarded a Breakthrough Therapy Designation by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Toby Sykes Ph.D., Managing Director of ICG Life Sciences, will join the F2G Board of Directors and the financing, subject to regulatory approval, could close in Q3 2024. Toby Sykes commented: “Invasive fungal infections cause substantial morbidity and mortality, particularly in immunosuppressed patients. For many of these pathogens, there are limited or no effective therapies. Senior Debt Partners 5 has closed the largest ever direct lending fundraise in Europe, at $17bn. Previously Global Head of Client Partnership Group at Angelo Gordon, Alan succeeds Andreas Mondovits, who will become a Senior Advisor based in Singapore after a structured period of handover. ICG recently contributed 49 hours of volunteering to City Harvest London, where our interns spent the day sorting and packing rescued food 🍏. City Harvest aim to tackle food poverty by redistributing surplus food that would have otherwise been wasted. This is then given to various charity groups around London, who deliver the food to those in need 🌎. We recently hosted an insight day in our London office for eight young people, in partnership with ThinkForward. Issa, one of the participants, commented “The day was helpful. Doing a practice interview is good because I got feedback that will help me improve for next time, for example I can work on my body language and also try to speak louder.” We wish every success to the young people who attended our insight day✨. ThinkForward, who is one of our partner charities, aims to reduce the risk of young people in disadvantaged parts of London becoming NEET (not in education, employment or training). Our summer interns have been settling into their roles and learning more about the company through on-the-job experience, mentorship opportunities and bespoke training sessions provided by our employees and external professionals, including an introduction to Private Markets and a Q&A with CFO David Bicarregui.
