ICONS is hosting the GEMSTONE Twinning Project Manager at Acıbadem Üniversitesi (ACU), Oğuzhan Altınkoz, Ph.D.. During this period, our teams were involved in transferring knowledge and best practices in research management to increase the institutional capacity. Furthermore, we created discussion panels about the Communication and Dissemination strategy to support the project in its last year. "Visiting Fondazione ICONS was a transformative experience that deepened my understanding of effective project management and communication. Their commitment to collaboration and innovation inspires us to improve our own practices at ACU.” (Oğuzhan Altınkoz)

Thanks to Cetaqua - Water Technology Centre for hosting the WalNUT project General Assembly! During this meeting, our Communication Officers Francesco Agresta and Caterina Falcinelli presented Communication and Dissemination updates, involving partners in a discussion about the next steps and initiatives. Moreover, they took the occasion to film short video-interviews with three project partners, diving into WalNUT’s business models for nutrient recovery technologies, the adoption of bio-based fertilisers in the European market and the ongoing field trials to test the agronomic effectiveness of our first results. Furthermore, Yasmine Zaki Abdelaziz, Social Innovation Officer, took this occasion to engage in bilateral discussions with partners in charge for the assessment of WalNUT’s policy implications and market acceptance, laying the ground for the contribution of ICONS on these topics. #WalNUT_eu is an EU-funded project which aims to develop sustainable fertilisers from by-products, reduce reliance on non-renewable resources, minimize environmental impacts, and support a circular bioeconomy in line with the EU Green Deal.

📢 Exciting News from the GEMSTONE Project! 🌟 We are pleased to announce that GEMSTONE Project Manager Oğuzhan Altınkoz is currently attending a specialized training on project management at Fondazione ICONS, one of our esteemed consortium partners from Italy. ICONS, known for its extensive expertise in participating in large-scale EU-funded projects, is providing Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University with a unique opportunity to benefit from their extensive knowledge and experience. This 10-day intensive program is an important part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the research and administrative capacity of Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University. Through this training, we aim to strengthen ACU's ability to efficiently manage complex international projects, in line with the capacity building objectives of the GEMSTONE Project.
