🎉Meet the Newest Addition to Our Team!   We’re excited to welcome Leo Rosselli as he steps into the role of #EngineeringManager, bringing with him a wealth of #experience in the #calcination sector and strategic insight that will elevate our projects to new heights.   Leo will be at the helm of our Engineering team, guiding the development process through each stage of the #TRL7 phase in #Augusta and into future ventures.   Leo will be a key technical liaison, working with stakeholders to implement solutions that balance #Innovation and #Efficiency. He’ll also oversee the scheduling and coordination of resources, expertly blending #InternalTalent with #ExternalPartnerships to keep our projects on track.   In addition to leading the team, Leo will play a vital role in selecting #ProcessTechnologies and evaluating proposals from suppliers and contractors to maintain rigorous standards. 🔬 Go check out our latest #ResearchArticle titled "Assessing the Limit of CO2 Storage in Seawater as Bicarbonate-Enriched Solutions", published in the journal Molecules MDPI.   The Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering "Giulio Natta," Politecnico di Milano, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Politecnico di Milano, Department of Engineering and Architecture, Università degli studi di Parma, and Limenet collaborated on one of the longest on-site measurements of the #stability of #bicarbonates in seawater.   We investigated the dissolution of CO2 in seawater as bicarbonate ions, exploring an alternative to geological storage. Our study focuses on the long-term chemical stability of CO2 absorbed as bicarbonate, analyzing key physico-chemical properties such as pH, dissolved inorganic carbon, and alkalinity. We conducted six sets of experiments using both natural and artificial seawater over three months. 🌍 Enhancing Climate Strategies   Francesco Campo, Limenet’s R&D specialist, PhD recently presented at the SISC 2024 Conference in Lecce (Società Italiana per le Scienze del Clima), held from September 24 to 27 in partnership with the MEDCLIVAR network.   This year's theme, “Bridging multiple space and time scale in climate sciences”, fostered discussions on the evolution of the #MediterraneanClimate and its various atmospheric, marine, and terrestrial aspects. At Limenet, we showcased the chemical and engineering features of our innovative process, emphasizing its potential impact on the Mediterranean Sea basin. Our presentation included insights from #LifeCycleAssessment and #TechnoEconomicEvaluations, backed by experiments, as well as plans for the pre-industrial plant in Sicily.
