During the last three days, the athletes and teams at the CYBATHLON 2024 showed their outstanding abilities in the competitions. The teams supported by maxon were very successful: 🥈 2nd place for the French team SmartARM from ISIR - Institut des Systèmes Intelligents et de Robotique with their pilot Etienne Moullet in the Category Assistance Robot Race 🥈 2nd place for the Swiss enhanced Teams from OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule and their pilot Rolf Schoch in the category Exoskeletton 🥈 2nd place for the Swiss enhanced Teams from OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule and their pilot Rolf Schoch in the category Wheelchair Race 🥉 3rd place for the Japanese team from Oecu&R-Techs with their pilot Toshiki Ogura in the category Wheelchair Race 🥉 3rd place for the Italian team from BionIT Labs and their pilot Salvatore de Cillis in the Category Arm Prothesis Race Congratulations to all of you - and all the other teams that were not on the winner's podium but still showed extraordinary performances! Day 3 at the CYBATHLON started with the exoskeleton-race. It needs patience to steer an exoskeleton, as pilot Jessica Dibady explains in the interview with us. She is part of the team RISE - TU Berlin (Research and innovation in student exoskeleton development) from Technische Universität Berlin, whose team-leader Lukas Schneidewind points out how their device functions. The team works with drive technology from maxon, provided by maxon germany.

He is a true veteran of the CYBATHLON: Pilot Christophe Huchet from the team SmartARM. In the interview with us Christophe explains that he needs eight muscles to move the arm and what the difference is between a competition like the Cybathlon and the everyday use. Christophe was here together with Nathanael Jarrassé and his team from ISIR - Institut des Systèmes Intelligents et de Robotique at Sorbonne Université. The SmartARM is moved by maxon drives and the team has a long collaboration history with maxon France.
